1 http://www.edristi.in/ Preface Dear readers, we have started edristi English edition as well from the month of August. We are hopeful that it will help us to connect to the broader audience and amplify our personal bonding with each other. While presenting Day-to-day current affairs, we are very cautious on choosing the right topics to make sure only those get the place which are useful for competitive exams perspective, not to increase unnecessary burden on the readers by putting useless materials. Secondly, we have also provided the reference links to ensure its credibility which is our foremost priority. You can always refer the links to validate its authenticity. We will try to present the current affairs topics as quickly as possible but its authenticity is given higher priority over its turnaround time. Therefore it could happen that we publish the incident one or two days later in the website. Our plan will be to publish our monthly PDF on very first day of every month with making appropriate modifications of day-to-day events. In general, the events happened till 28th day will be given place in the PDFs. The necessity of this is to ensure the contents factual authenticity. Reader’s satisfaction is our utmost priority so requesting you to provide your valuable feedback to us. We will warmly welcome your appreciation/criticism given to us. It will surely show us the right direction to improve the content quality. Hopefully the current affairs PDF (from 1st September to 30th September) will benefit our beloved readers.

  • Distance Running Results Vol
Distance Running Results Vol. 9, No. 45 – 15 December 2009 © Distance Running Results. All rights reserved. ____________________________________________________________________ Distance Running Results (DRR) publishes results of races 800 metres and longer from all over the world with the focus on South African results. DRR is available by subscription only. For subscription information send an e-mail to the address at the end of this issue. Publisher: Riël Hauman ____________________________________________________________________ EDITORIAL Former Comrades record holder Vladimir Kotov set a new Western Province masters record in the 29 th running of the Avbob 15 km in Table View this weekend. Kotov has a still pending provincial record of 49:48 for the distance; this time he clocked 49:40. Bulelwa Mtshagi won the women’s race in a quick 56:56. Winner of the men’s race was Sityhilo Diko, who once had a date of birth of 10 September 1989, but now owns an ID showing he was born in 1991 (see also “The curious case of Sityhilo Diko” in DRR 9:08 earlier this year). It is a real tragedy for the sport that runners have to resort to these kinds of shenanigans in order to win prize money for a few more years in an age category where they do not belong. See also the note about Sibusiso Thu with the results of the Volkswagen 10 km in this issue. In the Cross Fiestas de la Virgen in Spain twins Lebogang and Lebo Phalula finished first and fourth respectively. Next week’s issue of DRR will be the last for 2009.
