UIS Announces Fall Semester Deans' List FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Date: February 13, 2008 Contact: Donna McCracken, 217/206-6716 UIS announces fall semester deans’ list SPRINGFIELD - The students listed below have been named to the University of Illinois at Springfield Deans’ List for the 2007 fall semester. A total of 440 students were selected; 60 are students in the College of Business and Management, 54 are students in the College of Education and Human Services, 265 are enrolled in programs in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, 49 are enrolled in programs in the College of Public Affairs and Administration, and 12 are non-degree or undecided. To qualify for the designation, a student must be an undergraduate who took at least eight graded semester hours and maintained a grade-point average of at least 3.75 for the semester. The list is organized alphabetically by hometown.     Commencement UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO BOULDER FOLSOM STADIUM MAY 9, 2019 One Hundred Forty-Third Year of the University NORLIN CHARGE TO THE GRADUATES The first commencement at the University of Colorado was held for six graduates on June 8, 1882, in the chapel of Old Main. It was not until 40 years later, on September 4, 1922, that the first summer commencement was held. Since the first commencement in 1882, the University of Colorado Boulder has awarded more than 350,000 degrees. The traditional Norlin Charge to the graduates was first read by President George Norlin to the June 1935 graduating class. You are now certified to the world at large as alumni of the university. She is your kindly mother and you her cherished sons and daughters. This exercise denotes not your severance from her, but your union with her. Commencement does not mean, as many wrongly think, the breaking of ties and the beginning of life apart. Rather it marks your initiation in the fullest sense into the fellowship of the university, as bearers of her torch, as centers of her influence, as promoters of her spirit. The university is not the campus, not the buildings on campus, not the faculties, not the students of any one time—not one of these or all of them.     EMPOWERING HEALTHY FUTURES FYE 2014 + FYE 2015 ANNUAL REPORT Dear Friends, CEO UPDATE Every day I’m asked, “How has the Affordable Care Act changed things for Venice Family Clinic?” On the surface, the numbers are simple. When I came to Venice Family Clinic in 1995, just 10% of our patients were covered LIZ FORER by insurance. By 2012, this number had increased to 35%. Now, with the unprecedented reforms of the Affordable Care Act, more than 72% of our patients have public or private coverage – a first in Venice Family Clinic’s forty-six year history. Underneath all of this change, the devil is truly in the details. With full implementation of not only the Affordable Care Act, but also electronic medical records, population health management and our work to become a Patient-Centered Medical Home, the time has come for us to examine every detail of how our business of “providing quality health care” operates. Our team enrolled more than 4,000 people for the first time in their lives this year. While there remains a great deal of work and advocacy to be done, this remarkable progress is truly a cause for celebration! In this combined Fiscal Year 2014/2015 Annual Report, you’ll see how targeted investments in quality improvement, renewed focus on data and metrics, and the use of technology are improving access and outcomes for the families and individuals who rely on Venice Family Clinic for care. We are so proud of our Children First Early Head Start parent who started behavioral health counseling and increased 6 out of 7 family outcome scores that are linked to children having success in school.

    Amanda Marie About the Artist: Amanda Marie | American - 1981 An American painter and Stencilist, Amanda Marie has been living and painting in Colorado since 2001. She attended the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD) and has exhibited extensively in the US and Europe. She creates small works on paper and larger works on canvas for indoor exhibition. She also paints large scale murals in out- door and urban and garden settings. Her use of nostalgic storybook like imagery is an invitation for viewing allegorical and highly painterly compositions . Signa- ture in her very graphic work is the use of children and young adults as imagery tools to deliver clever often subtle messages that can straddle a line between comforting and spooky. Oth- er signature and recognizable traits in her work are the com- mon use of ‘twin imagery’ and the consistent use of vintage sewing patterns as backgrounds to inform the compositions of her paintings. The work has a very wide appeal. Her respect from the Street Art world, and her appeal to a fine Art crowd is a rare combina- tion. Along with Swoon and AIKO, Amanda Marie is among the very best women working in the important genre of Stencilism, and her visual language is as rich and graphically powerful as any of her peers. With Amanda, it is refreshing to see graphic stencils (cutout devices to reproduce and apply graphic imagery or text) which are not the overtly violent or super sexual images that might have originally at- tracted audiences to the genre. As stencil painting matures Amanda Marie’s work is keeping pace with an evolving and discerning eye.
