A few years ago Lynn Langham began playing professionally on the southwestern college circuit. She has been performing for admiring audiences and attentive critics ever since. Locally, among the first to recognize Lynn's professional caliber, was Ed Badeaux who noted in 's FOLK CITY GAZETTE, "Lynn Langham is a strong performer who uses her voice with warmth and genuine emotional projection ... she can make all kinds of songs live." Badeaux went further to praise " .. a woman with a warm smile, honey eyes, and a rich, full voice...a very busy performer. sometimes feverishly busy." Indeed it has been quite busy lately for Lynn Langham, both on stage and on the road, from opening for Cheech and Chong at Houston's elegant Million Dollar City Dump to a weeks run at the famous Other End in New York City. Commenting on the opening set for Cheech and Chong, critic Dale Adamson wrote in the , "Lynn Langham served up a set of lovely, completely tasteful songs, ranging from her haunting 'Quickfire· to a moving version of John Prine's 'Angel from Montgomery'. •• In New York VARIETY reviewed one of her sets at the Other End. "Lynn Langham impresses ... she is pleasant in visage, sings folk and swing with effect... most of her material is original, although she also scores with John Prine's 'Angel from Montgomery'." Lynn continues to charm audiences and impress critics as both performer and songwriter. Bob Claypool of the HOUSTON POST writes of Lynn's recent opening set for Leon Redbone in Houston's Texas Opry House, "Langham's set, as always, was lovely and fine... an interesting son.gwriter, a sensitive singer and guitarist. Her forty minute set ran an emotional gamut from the goodtimey 'Razamatazz' to the wistfullness of 'Magnolia'." Now living in the Big Apple, Lynn says she'd like to work more around the east coast, then on to California and, we hope, a stopover in Texas to entertain her loyal regional following. - CONCERTS Kerrville Folk Festival • Zilker Park Folk Festival ( Dallas) Shared billing as opening act with: Leon Redbone, 8.
