2.2. EPRS Ideas Paper on “International trade policy”

Decision: The Chair to send a letter to EP Secretary General calling for a better cooperation and coordination with the EPRS.

2.4. Calendar of Committee meetings from September to December 2020

Decision: (1) To insist on the need to maintain the planned Committee meetings of 12 October (13.45-15.45) and 15 October (11.30-12.30, 13.45-15.45), especially given the need to maintain the rescheduled priority exchange of views with French and Dutch Ministers and to deepen exchanges in relation to the upcoming Trade Policy Review; (2) The Chair to raise also at the Conference of Committee Chairs the issue of how the lack of fixed long-term calendar is hampering the committee work.

2.5. Linguistic profile of the Committee

Decision: To take note of this petition, but not to take any specific follow-up action and to reply by letter to PETI. To highlight in the letter to PETI earlier work done by the EP in relation to the topic of wildlife trafficking, in particular EP resolution of 2 March 2017 on EU Common Commercial Policy in the context of wildlife sustainability imperatives (2016/2054(INI))

Decision: To request a legal opinion about the compatibility of the digital trade provisions in the USMCA and the CPTPP with the EU's GDPR.

Decision: 1) To endorse the programme for the Trade Policy Day hearing, adding a keynote opening intervention for Commission Executive Vice-President Mr Valdis DOMBROVSKIS and trying to guarantee gender balance among speakers. 2) To endorse the programme for the hearing on EU-China trade relations, adding the China Chamber of Commerce to the EU in the panel discussion.
