GIANT Restructures Promo Staff; Ray Carlton and Jean Johnson Upped GIANT Records has re -aligned its Promotion Department, it was announced by Steve Backer, General Manager, of GIANT Records. In the new arrangement, Ray Carlton and Jean Johnson are promoted to Head of Promotion and Head of Pop Promotion, respectively. Both are based in Los Angeles. Commented Mr. Backer, "We've structured our Promotion Department to reflect the diversity of the GIANT roster, allowing us the flexibility to break a record in any given genre and move it to other formats. In addition to Ray and Jean's promotions, which are very much deserved, we've brought in Barry Lyons as Head of Rock Promotion, and now Ray Mancison for College Promo, giving GIANT the best radio team we've ever had. It's a very exciting time for us." Ray Carlton was most recently GIANT's Head of Pop Promotion, the position he has held since joining the company in 1990. Jean Johnson was most recently GIANT's Sr. Director, Pop Promotion, the position she has held since coming to the company in Ray Carlton Jean Johnson 1990.
