Installation Instructions for RURO Software

Committed to the industry movement toward , we distribute our solutions as pre-packaged Virtual Appliances, eliminating installation, configuration, and maintenance costs associated with traditional deployment methods.

To take full advantage of FreezerPro®, ezColony®, Sciency® ELN, LIMS 24/7®, Limfinity® or our other solutions, and be able to access the software from anywhere on your network or Internet, virtualization software from VMware or Microsoft should be installed on a computer which will be hosting the RURO software. Virtualization software enables partitioning of a physical server into multiple virtual machines.

For customers who are just starting out with virtualization methods, we recommend using VMware Player. VMware Player is a tool frequently used for the software evaluation prior to the purchase.

For a production installation of RURO software, we recommend VMware Fusion (Mac OS X), VMware ESXi, VMware vSphere, or Microsoft Hyper-V. Please visit our web site at http://www.ruro.com/install for detailed, step-by-step installation instructions and system requirements.

RURO software is provided in (OVF) Open format. Installation of RURO software on Microsoft Hyper-V requires a specific software image. Please contact [email protected] for more information.

Once you have a virtual machine (VM) up and running, open your Internet Browser and enter http://192.168.1.x (the IP shown in the VM console), and the software login page will be displayed. At the login page, enter your login name: admin and password: admin to access RURO software. The login and password can be changed at any time inside the browser-based User Interface.

By default, VM is configured to use DHCP to obtain the network IP address. Please consider changing to a static IP address or configuring a DHCP server in your organization to always provide the same IP address to the Virtual Machine.

To activate the software license, please open the Virtual Machine console and scroll down to the License Manager. Choose Online or Fax / Email option, press Enter, and then follow the provided instructions. Your Product Number is used for the software activation.
