TAN “aka: Tangy Flava” BIOGRAPHY Mr. Tan has a leadership sensibility as a bi-coastal MC on (Long Island, New York and South Central, L.A., his style fuses East Coast lyricism with a West Coast mentality. Before becoming a part of the “Burn” single sensation, he and fellow Militia recruit Ms. Toi were known as the L.A. group, “DaPhatpak”. He kicked down doors in 1998 with the release of the first Militia album. At the same time, he gained a loyal following by touring with some of the top West Coast MC’s, including the Alcoholics (The Liks), Xzibit and Tash. Proving to be a multi-dimensional artist, Mr. Tan demonstrated his acting ability by starring alongside Tyrese Gibson and Snoop Dogg in the classic John Singleton’s urban film, “Baby Boy”. He also showcased his skills on the movie soundtrack’s hit single “Just a Baby Boy, also with Tyrese Gibson and Snoop Dogg in 2003. Mr. Tan continues his leadership position with a mission to show and prove that he is here to take over the rap game. Mr. Tan’s latest releases are (Mr. Tan-Demeanor, Mr. Tan-So Gangsta, Mr. Tan-They Don’t Know, Mr. Tan- Shinin Like Money) All other videos are on Utube (mrtan20foe7), as well as Rap or Die,Reverbnation/mrtan75. Mr. Tan is also on Twitter@mrtanfly20foe7andFacebook/olan.thompson.3 Mr. Tan continues to lock down the streetz of L.A. and abroad with his slamin rap music. You’ll be hearing and seeing a whole lot more from the man with the plan (Mr. Tan). My objective is to take over the rap game with the West Coast Swing. Rapping has been a strong credibility in my life for many years, I’m here to let the world know that “I am here to stay”. The direction I plan to take my talent and career will hopefully end at a successful destination, nevertheless endless. The sky is the limit for me and my determination for success in this rap industry will enable me to grow and deliver my talent tremendously all over. I’m looking forward to placing my initials worldwide, not only as a rap artist, but also as a writer and actor in the entertainment world. .

KWARTALNIK NEOFILOLOGICZNY, LVIII, 4/2011 MACIEJ WIDAWSKI (GDAŃSK) COMPOUNDING IN AFRICAN AMERICAN SLANG Compounding is a very productive process in forming African American slang. Interestingly, the form of African American slang is not fundamentally different from that of standard English. The same wordbuilding processes – including compounding – are applicable, disproving uninformed allegations of linguistic defi ciency in African American slang when compared to standard En- glish. In fact, compounding can even be used in a more creative way in African American slang. This paper presents the main compounding patterns employed in the creation of African American slang, including those universally known in the English language and those characteristic solely of African American usage. Partially drawing from earlier studies (Widawski & Kowalczyk 2011), the presentation is based on lexical material from a sizable database of citations from contempo- rary sources, collected through extensive fi eldwork in the United States and research at academic institutions such as Yale University, Columbia University, Duke University, and the University of Mississippi. COMMON COMPOUND TYPES In African American slang compounds may be created from individual words of various parts of speech and juxtaposed in any order; the end result may be any given part of speech; they may also be made from two standard or two slang words, or one of each. Moreover, as observed by Eble (1996: 28 and 31), compound elements are underspecifi ed semantically or grammatically, which gives rise to complexity in meaning and fi gurative interpretation. Let us take a closer look at some of the most typical combinations found in African American slang.

  • Universal Studios' the Fate of the Furious
OOH Case Study Universal Studios’ The Fate of the Furious Problem How does Universal Studios best launch its new film The Fate of the Furious? Solution By executing a unique concept that encompasses digital OOH, a live NFL football game, a publicity event, and the use of Facebook Live. Background Universal Pictures sought to launch the new #F8: The Fate of the Furious global trailer in an over-the-top way using a multi-channel, digital approach. It wanted to tap into the nostalgia among die- hard followers of The Fast and Furious franchise, while still target- ing the new generation of fans to create excitement around the upcoming release. The challenge for the eighth installment of this film franchise continued to be finding a way to keep each release exciting, relevant, and leaving audiences wanting to see more. Objective OOH media wasn’t known to support trailer launches. Universal Pictures sought to buck tradition and create something exception- al and overblown. The objective was to execute a unique concept that encompassed a live NFL football game, a live publicity event, and the use of Facebook Live, plus digital OOH screens in Times Square to broadcast all elements. Creating such a massive event launched the “Fast 8” trailer on a monumental scale, capable of generating excitement beyond anything that had been done before. It was unique in that it could reach a broad range of people through different media channels and physical environments. In light of the flexibility, no one was left out of Universal’s target audience. The goal was to unite all audiences and platforms at the exact same time by releasing the trailer for first time globally, generating excitement, buzz, and a social media frenzy.

  • Mama's Bad Boy Album Download Baby Boy
mama's bad boy album download Baby Boy. The rap songs from the Baby Boy soundtrack will no doubt garner the most attention, but for the most part, the numerous contemporary urban soul songs are what make this such a great album. Laid-back slow jams by D'Angelo, the Transitions, Raphael Saadiq, Felicia Adams, and a Anthony Hamilton/Macy Gray duet are all wonderful, lulling songs filling in the album's gaps. Furthermore, two classics -- Bootsy Collins' "I'd Rather Be With You" and Marvin Gaye's "Just to Keep You Satisfied" -- are welcome additions. Yet as commendable as these numerous soul songs may be for their mood-inducing effects, it's hard to miss the few big-time rap songs functioning as the soundtrack's selling points. In particular, "Just a Baby Boy" -- featuring Snoop Dogg, Tyrese, and Mr. Tan over a Battlecat production -- is yet another of Snoop's forays into R&B territory, with Mr. Tan doing the crooning; the one-time Doggfather seems to have found a new, more dynamic songwriting formula that makes his '90s work seem formative in comparison. Besides the Snoop track, Three 6 Mafia and La Chat's "Baby Mama" is essentially a rewrite of Project Pat's "Chicken Head," a sort of ghetto "Mrs. Jackson" that is a trademark Juicy J/DJ Paul production; BG's "Thatshowegetdown" also stands out, featuring a welcome new sound for Cash Money producer Mannie Fresh; and then there are two more Battlecat productions featuring tha Eastsidaz and Lost Angels, which are both fairly forgettable.

FinalProject 25/08/2018, 930 PM COGS108 Final Project Group Members: Yanyi Wang Ziwen Zeng Lingfei Lu Yuhan Wang Yuqing Deng Introduction and Background Movie revenue is one of the most important measure of good and bad movies. Revenue is also the most important and intuitionistic feedback to producers, directors and actors. Therefore it is worth for us to put effort on analyzing what factors correlate to revenue, so that producers, directors and actors know how to get higher revenue on next movie by focusing on most correlated factors. Our project focuses on anaylzing all kinds of factors that correlated to revenue, for example, genres, elements in the movie, popularity, release month, runtime, vote average, vote count on website and cast etc. After analysis, we can clearly know what are the crucial factors to a movie's revenue and our analysis can be used as a guide for people shooting movies who want to earn higher renveue for their next movie. They can focus on those most correlated factors, for example, shooting specific genre and hire some actors who have higher average revenue. Reasrch Question: Various factors blend together to create a high revenue for movie, but what are the most important aspect contribute to higher revenue? • Typologies of Black Male Sensitivity in R&B and Hip
Chaney and Mincey: Typologies of Black Male Sensitivity in R&B and Hip Hop JOURNAL OF HIP HOP STUDIES . Typologies of Black Male Sensitivity in R&B and Hip Hop Cassandra Chaney and Krista D. Mincey Abstract A qualitative content analysis was conducted on the lyrics of 79 R&B and Hip Hop songs from 1956-2013 to identify the ways that these Black male artists expressed sensitivity. The songs were determined by Billboard Chart Research Services, and Phenomenology provided the theoretical foundation on which the themes were identified. Qualitative analysis of the lyrics revealed Black male sensitivity in R&B and Hip Hop to be based on the following four typologies: (a) Private Sensitivity; (b) Partnered Sensitivity; (c) Perceptive Sensitivity; and (d) Public Sensitivity. Private Sensitivity occurred when the Black male is alone; feels lonely; disguises or hides his tears from his romantic partner or others; and expresses a determination to not cry and/or continue crying. Partnered Sensitivity occurred when the Black male encourages and/or connects with his romantic partner, other men, and/or members of the Black community through crying. Perceptive Sensitivity was demonstrated when Black men acknowledge the tears shed by others, and shed tears themselves while being conscious of society’s expectation that men suppress emotion and/or refrain from crying. Public Sensitivity was exemplified when the Black male cries publicly and verbally expresses that he does not care what others think of him. Qualitative examples are provided to support each of the aforementioned themes. R&B and Hip Hop are two music genres that have gained global appeal in recent years.
