ELITE AGAIN 2017 NCAA WEST REGIONAL FINAL

Xavier earned its third NCAA Tournament Elite Eight in 2017, defeating Arizona in a Regional Semifinal. XU also reached the Elite Eight in 2004 and 2008. Xavier is one of 21 schools that have been to two or more Elite Eights in the last 11 years and one of 18 schools that have been to three or more in the last 16 years. The teams that Xavier has defeated during its three NCAA Tournament Elite Eight runs include Louisville, Mississippi State, Texas, , Purdue, West Virginia, Maryland, Florida State and Arizona.

Xavier has now made it to at least the Sweet 16 six times in the last 11 years (since 2008), including 2017, 2015, 2012, 2010, 2009 and 2008. Only nine teams have made at least six Sweet 16s since 2008: Kansas (8), North Carolina (7), Michigan State (7), Wisconsin (7), Kentucky (7), Duke (7), Xavier (6), Syracuse (6) and Arizona (6). Xavier has made eight all-time appearances in the Sweet 16: 1990, 2004, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2017. XU first reached the Sweet 16 in 1990 and first reached the Elite Eight in 2004. Xavier has made five straight NCAA Tournaments and 12 of the last 13. The tradition goes back further as XU has made 31 appearances in postseason play over the last 36 years, including 27 NCAA Tournaments. Xavier’s winning percentage over the past 25 years is ranked 10th in the nation at .708. Xavier’s 22 20-win seasons over the last 25 years rank tied for sixth, while its nine 20-win seasons in the last 10 years rank tied for 10th. Xavier’s winning tradition has been fueled by incredible individual achievements. One of the biggest winners in XU history was , 2017 XU Hall of Famer who is now playing in Turkey. James Posey, a 1999 graduate, won an NBA Championship as a Cavaliers assistant coach in 2016. It was his third NBA Championship, having won an NBA title as a player with Boston in the 2007-08 season with teammates , and . Posey won his first NBA Championship in the 2005-06 season as a part of the , playing alongside and Shaquille O’Neal.

David West won NBA Championships in 2017 and 2018 with the , playing with , Steph Curry, and . West, who retired earlier this year after 15 NBA seasons, was drafted in the first round of the 2003 NBA by New Orleans. He has also played for Indiana and San Antonio. West was named to the 2008 and 2009 NBA Western Conference All-Star Team.

DAVID WEST XAVIER ALUM IS A WINNER IN EVERY WAY

David West, 2003 National Player of the Year as a Xavier senior, is a 2003 Xavier University graduate who was inducted into the XU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010. West was named the 2003 NABC (National Association of Coaches) Pete Newell Big Man of the Year and won the 2003 Senior CLASS Award, a prestigious award that honors seniors who excel in the areas of community involvement, the classroom, character/leadership and competition. He also was named to a All-Decade team.

EDMOND SUMNER SUBHEAD

Edmond Sumner was selected in the second round of the 2017 NBA Draft by the with the 22nd pick of the second round and the 52nd pick overall. New Orleans then traded the draft rights to Sumner to the Indiana Pacers. Xavier fans won’t have far to travel to catch up with the former XU standout. Sumner is now healthy and ready for the start of the 2018-19 season.

Trevon Bluiett, a 2018 Xavier graduate and a consensus 2018 Second Team All-American, finished his career as the school’s career 3- leader with 319 and second on the all-time scoring list with 2,261 points. Bluiett, who signed a two-way contract with New Orleans, enjoyed a very successful 2018 NBA Summer League season.

23 FORMER MUSKETEERS OVERSEAS CURRENTLY PLAYING ABROAD IN 15 COUNTRIES

The year after each player is the last year he played at Xavier. The country listed is the latest country where each player has signed to play. Sean O’Mara (Finland) and Kerem Kanter (France) from last year’s Xavier team are playing overseas. At press time, Xavier had 23 former players playing in 15 different countries outside the U.S. That’s in addition to Xavier’s NBA and G-League players. Kaiser Gates, who signed a training camp deal with the NBA’s , is expected to be found this season either on an NBA roster, a G-League roster or overseas.

The 2018-19 campaign marks Xavier’s sixth season as a member of the BIG EAST Conference. Through its five seasons in the league, 2018 BIG EAST Regular Season Champion Xavier has earned five at-large bids to the NCAA Tournament. The BIG EAST Conference, which has established itself as an elite basketball conference, had both Xavier and eventual National Champion Villanova earn No. 1 seeds in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. The BIG EAST placed six teams in the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Nine of the 10 BIG EAST teams have made at least one NCAA Tournament appearance in the last five years.

Madison Square Garden serves as the home of the BIG EAST Basketball Championship. A recent $1 billion renovation to the “World’s Most Famous Arena” featured the addition of a state-of-the-art GardenVision scoreboard, new suites, renovated concourses and a remodeled Chase Square 7th Avenue entrance. The transformation also included the addition of the Chase Bridges, two seating areas that run high above and parallel to the length of the event floor. MSG has hosted an endless list of high profile events, including a visit from Pope Francis.

CINCINNATI SPORTS AND BUSINESS ONE OF AMERICA’S BEST FOR BOTH

A variety of pro sports teams and world-class events call Cincinnati home, including the Western & Southern Open that attracts the best men’s and women’s tennis players in the world every year. The Cincinnati Bengals are gunning for another playoff appearance. The oldest professional baseball team, the Cincinnati Reds, hosted the 2015 All-Star Game and enjoyed divisional championship seasons in 2010 and again in 2012 and got back to the playoffs in 2013. FC Cincinnati begins MLS play next season. Cincinnati is a hot spot for major business and motion pictures. George Clooney and Ryan Gosling filmed key parts of the movie “Ides of March” on XU’s campus, including Cintas .

Cintas Center is on target to pass the three-million mark for fans that have enjoyed men’s college basketball since opening in 2000. These fans include numerous Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, including Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert, who is seen above proudly wearing Xavier gear and throwing up the X. Before the 2015-16 season, Xavier hosted the in its NBA exhibition season opener, the first game in the Cavs’ journey toward the 2016 NBA Championship. The Cavaliers roster included LeBron James, Kevin Love, and Cavs assistant coach James Posey, a 1999 Xavier graduate. Boxing champ Floyd Mayweather (seen above) is among those that have visited Cintas Center for basketball.

Xavier has sold out 167 games since Cintas Center opened for the 2000-01 season. XU has averaged 10,074 fans per game over 18 years at the facility, which now has a listed capac- ity of 10,224. XU has won 87.2 percent of its games at Cintas Center, which ranks as the nation’s fourth-best home court advantage. Cintas Center was third among the “Toughest Places to Play” in college basketball in an EA Sports online poll, while Sports Illustrated rated Cintas Center ninth. Dana O’Neil of The Athletic ranked it the toughest venue in the BIG EAST: “Cintas Center somehow incorporates all of the trappings for today’s fans -- luxury boxes, a VIP bar -- without sacrificing atmosphere. Xavier home games are always rocking.”

22 AWARD-WINNING TECH DECK VIRTUAL REALITY GAME EXPERIENCE AND MORE

The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) announced Xavier University’s Tech Deck in Cintas Center as the winner of the 2018 Best Game Day Technology Experience Award. The Tech Deck, which features what is believed to be the first in-arena live virtual reality game experience of its kind, is rented on a single-game basis for a party of up to 40 guests. The room includes a television wall, glass garage door to be opened to allow full access onto a balcony in the arena and virtual reality headsets that enable fans to watch the action as if they were standing at midcourt.

23 FAN EXPERIENCE EXCITING SEATING AND HOSPITALITY OPTIONS

There are numerous changes that have been made to the seating and hospitality options over the past two years. There are the new wider luxury Front Line seats, The Joseph Club and The Living Room at the Joseph Club (see in the lower two photos above), and The Lookout seating area cantilevered over the student section (top photo). Every home game at Cintas Center was sold out last season and this season’s season ticket numbers are better than last season. It’s a great place to enjoy the full college basketball experience.

The hospitality options include The 2,696 Zone, which honors Xavier’s all-time leading scorer Byron Larkin, and The Woods, which includes the original wood bar from the popular old Norwood Cafe (seen in the top photo). D’Artagnan’s Deck, the craft brew stop in the upper level, is expected to be a popular destination once again. A new Sam Adams amber signature beer will be served at D’Artagnan’s Deck, D’Artagnan’s Draught, this season. The Courtside Club (seen in the bottom two photos) caters to the courtside seat holders.

25 LOCKER ROOM OUR HOME INSIDE CINTAS CENTER IS GETTING A NEW LOOK

The men’s basketball team locker room is going to get a major redesign in the upcoming year. This is the initial rendering created by MSA Architects, an award-winning firm which designs for seven core markets including education, corporate, lifestyle, sport, government, religious and branded engagements. MSA is an industry leader in the athletics field.

26 STUDENT-ATHLETE EXPERIENCE ACADEMIC SUPPORT AND A PLACE TO RELAX

Through the generosity of Kevin and Georgette Crawford, Xavier now enjoys a new student-athlete academic center that is home to academic advisors, tutors, a computer lab and study space. The student-athlete lounge provides a place for student-athletes to gather and relax away from the hectic pace of college life. On game nights, the student-athlete lounge is the favorite post-game waiting room for the families of the players.

27 ATHLETIC TRAINING DOUBLE THE SIZE OF THE PREVIOUS SPACE

Xavier’s new Athletic Training Room opened last school year. This 5,550-square foot space utilizes the area of the old training room and the 2,500-square foot space left vacant by the old weight room. The new training room features a new hydrotherapy suite including two Hydroworx Pools in addition to 1,400 square feet of therapy space with equipment that includes a new Alter G anti-gravity treadmill and Cybex equipment. In addition there are two private doctor suites for student-athlete consultation with our team doctors, dedicated areas for treatment and taping and expanded office space. 28 STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COLLEGE BASKETBALL’S BEST STRENGTH FACILITY

Xavier’s impressive home for Xavier Strength and Conditioning opened in October of 2016 thanks to the generosity of the McCaw Family. A 5,000-square foot addition to the north side of the Cintas Center, this space serves as the primary weight room for Xavier Basketball. Featuring 20-foot ceilings, large exterior windows and a state-of-the-art sound system, this space sets the bar in terms of basketball strength facilities. The room features a 20-yard turf sprint area, designated spaces for cardio and strength training and the Xavier Fuel Café, a one stop shop for Xavier student-athletes’ nutritional needs. 29 EDUCATION

All-American Trevon Bluiett is one of four Musketeer basketball players that walked at this past May’s graduation ceremony at Cintas Center. Xavier develops the entire person to prepare each student-athlete for life after graduation. One important program that Xavier uses for men’s basketball is its “Fortune 15 Series - Building and Protecting Your Personal Brand.” Components include character development, media training, social media training, career development, alumni engagement, community service and fan interaction.

The many improvements on and around campus have been impressive, including the new Alter Hall classroom building as well as University Station, which houses the new book- store, apartments, retail and more. The Hoff Academic Quad seen above includes Smith Hall, home to the Williams College of Business with the 5/3 Trading Center equipped with Bloomberg terminals—the only college facility of its kind. The quad also houses the Conaton Learning Commons. Fenwick Place in the heart of campus is home to over 500 students and a 700-plus seat dining hall. Overseeing all of this is a statue of St. Francis Xavier, the University’s patron saint and one of the first Jesuits (seen lower left in this photo). In addi- tion, the university’s master facility plan includes the current HUB construction that includes a new student recreation center, set to open in 2019. 32
