Mark McEwen

Journalist, author and former CBS news anchor, Mark McEwen was voted one of the most trusted people in America and was a fixture on CBS in the mornings from 1987 until 2002. His wit and warmth made him a welcome guest in millions of homes. During his 15-year tenure at CBS, Mark served in a variety of high-profile positions, including anchor for "CBS This Morning", weather and entertainment reporter for "" and correspondent for "48 Hours." He is a stroke survivor and works with the American Stroke Association and the National Stroke Association to educate people on how to make healthy lifestyle changes. His has written Change in the Weather: Life After Stroke.

From “The Morning Program” to “CBS This Morning,” Mark was a main- stay on the CBS early news since first joining the network in 1987. He anchored with a unique flair and, over the years, has interviewed many prominent newsmakers, including former Presidents Bill Clinton, George Bush and Gerald Ford. He has also interviewed , , , , Paul McCartney, Jim Carrey, Garth Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, , , , Madonna and Joni Mitchell, among others.

He has covered almost every imaginable television event including the Oscars, the Cannes Film Festival, the Golden Globe Awards, the Grammy Awards, and the Country Music Association Awards. He covered three Winter Olympics including , France and , , and anchored the morning broadcast from , Japan during CBS Sports’ coverage of the Olympic Winter Games. In 1995, Mark was named one of the country’s “Ten Most Trusted TV News Personalities” in a TV Guide survey.

In his memoir, Change in the Weather: Life After Stroke, Mark candidly recalls his harrowing journey of rehabilitation from a massive stroke. is an intimate, life-affirming journey of recovery and his ultimate message of hope for stroke victims and their families.

Today, McEwen has recovered most of his day-to-day life, even returning to do occasional TV spots for his local CBS affiliate in Orlando. He speaks nationwide and is a dynamic new crusader helping to educate and inspire stroke victims and their families.

Mark was born in San Antonio, , and raised in Berlin, Germany; Montgomery, ; and Crownsville, . He attended the University of Maryland and now resides in Central Florida with his family.
