Méala Bereavement Support group Dingle Méala Bereavement Support Group held an open day in Dingle on Saturday the 12th November in the Díseart. Our guest speaker on the day was Denis Robinson, founding member of Méala.

children enjoyed the arts and crafts activities kindly provided by

The Power To Change PROGRAMME

MODEL 1: SELF-ESTEEM PROGRAMME This centres primarily on building self esteem, focusing on general issues of self worth, assertiveness and the rights and difficulties many women face in feeling entitled to them.

MODEL 2: FOR SURVIVORS OF DOMESTIC ABUSE This model is run specifically for survivors of domestic abuse. It is based on the idea that women working together in a safe, friendly and non-judgemental environment can change their lives for the better. The programme is run in weekly 2 hour sessions over 12 weeks. The main aims of the group are: START DATE: • To look at patterns of behaviour learned by women within abusive relationships Monday January 23rd • To raise awareness of women’s basic rights 2017 (12 weeks) • To build self-esteem, self-determination and empowerment Survivors often draw strength and benefits from interaction with other survivors of abuse. ‘Power to TIME: Change’ increases survivors understanding of the dynamics of abusive relationships by working through 10.00am to 12.00noon the weekly activities; and by sharing their experiences with other women survivors, feelings of shame, (€10 sign up and guilt and loneliness diminish. €2 per week) For further information or to book a place contact Tralee Women’s Resource Centre: Tel. 066 7120622
