LAST GAME @ MONTRÉAL CANADIANS The Devils defeated the Canadians, 4-3, in overtime, in the first of three contests in the 2019-20 regular season series. New Jersey earns their first victory against Atlantic Division opponents this season (1-4-1). The club snapped Montréal’s four-game home win streak.

New Jersey concludes their fifth of 16 sets of back-to-back play tonight, improving to 2-2-1 in second games played (1-2-2 in first games). The Devils sixth set of back-to-back action will be Nov. 22 @ PIT and Nov. 23 vs. DET.

New Jersey was 2-6 on the penalty kill and 4-5 on the power play against Montréal. The Devils outshot the Canadians, 43-34, the most shots on the goal the club has recorded this season.

Nikita Gusev opened the scoring for New Jersey 19:41 into the first period. Blake Coleman and Travis Zajac assisted Gusev’s tuck. Coleman extends his point streak to three games (1G-2A; 11/13-16), while Zajac extends his point streak to two games (1G-1A; 11/15- 16)

Nico Hischier tallied his first shorthanded goal of the season 19:58 into the second frame, assisted by Pavel Zacha. The goal marked the clubs first shorthanded goal of the season.

Wayne Simmonds notched his fourth goal as a Devil, tying the game at 15:12 in the third. Taylor Hall and Jack Hughes had the helpers on the goal.

Kyle Palmieri notched the game winner in overtime, assisted by Hall and Hischier. Hall and Hischier notch multi-point games (1G-1A Hischier; 2A Hischier), giving Hall his fourth multi-point game of the season, and Hischier his second of his 2019-20 campaign.

Mackenzie Blackwood got his 13th start of the 2019-20 season, stopping 31 of 34 shots faced in regulation. Blackwood improves to 7- 4-3 this season. Blackwood becomes the first rookie goaltender to earn the Devils’ first seven wins of a season (credit: Steve Cangialosi, MSG Networks PxP).

The Devils are 4-2-1 at Bell Centre and 7-3-3 overall against the Penguins since the 2015-16 season. New Jersey and Montréal will meet next on Nov. 28 at Bell Centre.

TONIGHT’S GAME vs. BOSTON BRUINS Tonight marks the second of three regular season contests between New Jersey and Boston. The Bruins the Devils, 3-0 in the Oct. 12 matchup, marking the first shutout handed to New Jersey in the 2019-20 regular season.

New Jersey went 0-4 on the man advantage, and 2-3 on the penalty kill. Coming into tonight’s tilt, Boston ranks third in the league on the power play (18-64; 28.1%).

Brad Marchand leads Boston in scoring tallying two points (1G-1A) in the fall contest. Joakim Nordstrom and Patrice Bergeron scored one goal each in the matchup.

Taylor Hall led the club in shots with five, while Nico Hischier (9 won, 6 lost) and Kevin Rooney (5 won, 8 lost) led the Devils in faceoff percentage wins (60%).

Blake Coleman will suit up for his 200th NHL/NJD game in the contest. The Plano, TX native was drafted in the third round (75th overall) by New Jersey in the 2011 NHL Draft. The right winger has posted 40 goals and 30 assists for 70 points in his fourth season sporting the Devils sweater.

New Jersey is 2-3-1 at Prudential Center, and 3-8-2 overall against Boston since the 2015-16 season. The Devils and Bruins will meet for the third and final time this regular season, Dec. 31 at Prudential Center.

MILITARY APPRECIATION NIGHT Prudential Center and the New Jersey Devils will honored our nation's service members during the team's annual Military Appreciation Night, Nov. 15 vs PIT.

The Kyle Palmieri Foundation, founded by New Jersey Devils right wing, Kyle Palmieri, and his wife, Ashlee Casper, gives back to those who put their lives on the line to preserve American freedom. Kyle has strong ties with the military as his sister and brother-in-law are currently serving in the National Guard and U.S. Army. This close connection to the military inspired Kyle to do more to help those who sacrifice the most.

Over the past four seasons, Kyle Palmieri has been providing active military service members and veterans an opportunity to attend a Devils regular season home game. During 10 select home games, Palmieri’s foundation, Squad 21 invites 21 military personnel and a guest to sit in Kyle’s reserved section, along with a t-shirt, and a post-game meet and greet with Kyle.
