World's Most Talented Motocross Riders Coming to Budds Creek World's Most Talented Motocross Riders coming to Budds Creek Posted by TBNDavid On 07/25/2017 MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (July 2017) – The Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, sanctioned by AMA Pro Racing, will make its annual visit to the shadow of our nation’s capital of Washington, D.C., with the summer tradition that is the Geico Motorcycle Budds Creek National. On Saturday, August 19, the world’s most talented riders and the most prestigious off-road motorcycle championship on the planet will converge at Southern Maryland’s Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville for the 28th running of this legendary event. Budds Creek has been a part of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship since 1989, thrilling fans with the finest motocross racing on the planet for nearly three decades. Thanks to such a deep and storied tradition, the Budds Creek National has become the longest running and premier motorsports event in the Washington, D.C., area. The Budds Creek track is notorious for the challenge it presents riders, testing their mental and physical fortitude with a series of elevation changes, off-camber turns, and exceptionally challenging obstacles. Only the strongest riders find success at Budds Creek and because of that demanding nature it was selected to host the 2007 Motocross of Nations, the biggest race in the world affectionately known as the “Olympics of Motocross.” With that distinction, Budds Creek will forever be enshrined in the annals of motocross history and continues to add to its legacy each and every summer. Since 1972 the most talented riders across the globe have laid it all on the line for a shot at victory in what is arguably the most grueling and challenging championship in all motorsports. This season’s 45th anniversary of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship will feature a wide-open battle for the coveted title, with no former champions in the field for just the seventh time in history. As a result, the 2017 championship is available for the taking from a long list of highly talented competitors chasing their first major title. This battle will take the international field of the fastest riders on the planet across the U.S., visiting 11 different states over the course of 12 weekends this summer. With defending series champion Ken Roczen sidelined with injury, and the recent retirement of three-time champion Ryan Dungey, the spotlight will shine on the likes of rising stars like Eli Tomac, Marvin Musquin, Jason Anderson, Blake Baggett, and Justin Barcia, with each looking to build of their past successes to achieve their greatest achievement to date. While baseball has long been considered America’s pastime, the sport of motocross and its 45 years of thrilling fans across the country is also a beloved summer tradition with its own collection of the boys of summer. This gathering of world class talent features some of the fittest, most talented, and daring athletes on the planet that push their physical and mental limits each and every weekend on the world’s roughest tracks and toughest weather conditions. A total of 40 riders will do battle on some of America’s most hallowed grounds in racing, each with the same common goal – winning. While serious business takes place just a half hour away in Washington, D.C., the area around Budds Creek is pure relaxation. The neighboring Patuxent River and the nearby Chesapeake Bay draw travelers of all kinds, and the ideal summer weather sets this race as the right time to explore the area. • The Monster Energy Mxgp of the Usa Makes the Curtain Call
THE MONSTER ENERGY MXGP OF THE USA MAKES THE CURTAIN CALL GLEN HELEN (United States), 16 September 2015 – It has been an epic season so far and this weekend one of the most famous motocross tracks in the world, Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California will host the final round of the FIM Motocross World Championship. The first time the FIM Motocross World Championship tackled the beast that is Glen Helen was back in 1990 where Belgian Eric Geboers was victorious. The motocross grand prix then returned again for the two years that followed, in 1991 and 1992, where French legend Jean-Michel Bayle headlined. Eighteen years after Bayle’s victory in ’92, MXGP returned where both world champions at that time Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Antonio Cairoli and Marvin Musquin won in their respective classes. What is exciting is that both Cairoli and Musquin will be racing this weekend while the winners of the most recent grand prix at Glen Helen, in 2011, Clement Desalle and Ken Roczen will not be onsite as they are both recovering from injuries. Yamaha Factory Racing Yamalube’s Romain Febvre has never raced in the USA and will be looking forward to put in some laps out here in Southern California. It will be interesting to see how he goes on the unfamiliar territory and with a lot of new names and faces on the gate. Hitachi Construction Machinery Revo KTM’s Shaun Simpson is one name that is recognized in the USA. Simpson, who raced a round of the American Nationals back in August, has been open about how pumped he is to return to the US for a grand prix.
