COMMUNITY

LiveWire’s Sports Development Team made important contributions to community and youth outreach work in our town in 2019. Our “Fit and Fed” school holiday support scheme served over 1,000 free meals to youngsters attending. Over 350 volunteer hours were delivered. The summer saw a wide range of free drop-in local sports sessions for young people that saw over 500 kids take part. And November saw the launch of LiveWire’s innovative and free new community bike-based project that aims to promote cycling as a form of exercise as well as reducing anti-social behaviour. Warrington Community Bike Project is a partnership between LiveWire, Warrington Police and the Cycling Projects charity that sees participants renovate and repair a reclaimed bike – that they get to keep. £inancially yours Record breaking By David Watkinson Warrington Parkrun The accountant’s New Year celebrates six years It is that time of year again – the accountant’s New Year. The annual maelstrom of the tax return deadline has passed. I have enjoyed my usual celebratory double scotch (I wonder whether I can get away with claiming tax relief on that either as annual tax free employee entertainment or alternatively as wholly and exclusively incurred in maintaining my sanity?) followed by a few days break.
