Introduction:

Dr Satish Kr Ganjoo – an educationist by profession, a historian by obsession and a researcher by choice; was born on May 1, 1956, at (Kashmir). He obtained the coveted academic degrees of M.Phil (1983) and Ph.D (1987) in History with specialization in International Relations and Central Asian Studies from the University of Kashmir. He is now working as Chair Professor in Tribal Studies, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Dharmshala (H.P.). Earlier he held the distinguished faculty and administrative positions in distinguished academic institutions. He was also appointed as Senior Consultant (Research) by Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi. He has been associated with Jawaharlal Nehru University (New Delhi); Himachal Pradesh University (Shimla); University of ; and, Aligarh Muslim University (Aligarh).

Dr. Ganjoo is also on the Expert Panel of Indian Council of Historical Studies, Indian Council of Philosophical Studies and Indian Council of Social Science Research. He developed the excellent potential for research and published a number of books on diverse topics of History; Culture; Politics; International Relations; ; Historiography; Central Asian, Religious and Tribal Studies.
