Vikram Gokhle Chairman of the Jury, 9th NSFFI 2019 Vikram Gokhle is a well-known Indian film, television and stage actor, notable for his roles in Marathi theatre and Hindi films and television. He is the son of another well-known veteran Marathi theater and film actor Chandrakant Gokhle, who acted in 68 Marathi and 16 Hindi films besides 64 Marathi plays over a span of 75 years. Gokhle is now directing his debut directorial film titled Aaghaat. Produced by Sprint Arts Creation and executive producer Rajesh Damble, the film is based on a story written by Dr Nitin Lavangare. The cast of the film includes actors Mukta Barve and Dr Amol Kolhe and is shot in Pune. The film is getting released on 24 December 2010. He is a worthy scion of the eminent Gokhle family. Born to the doyen of Marathi theatre, Shri Chandrakant Gokhle (and Smt Hemavati Gokhle), he is the grandson of the illustrious Smt Kamlabai, the first girl child-artist on the Indian screen and great grandson of Smt Durgabai, the first lady-artist on Indian Screen. He holds a special place in the hearts of countless Indians who have grown up watching him on the big and the small screen. He continues to inspire millions with relentless pursuit of his art. A low key person he lets his legendary body of work speak for him. A devoted family man, when not working he likes to spend his time pursuing his hobbies of photography and playing musical instruments like tabla and harmonium. Vikram Gokhle, is Teaching "Science of dramaturgy" in University Pune and Deccan Education Society Pune. Which covers major topics such as History, mathematics and science of dramaturgy. He is training his students not only to be an actor, but to be a good audience, to be an equivalent to Bollywood, Hollywood actor in regards with everything an actor needs to learn. His paper on “Mass Media & The Challenges of The New Millennium”, read at the National Seminar conducted by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel College was selected for translation and showcasing at United Nations in year 2000. He has worked relentlessly for the social welfare and upliftment of weaker sections of the society for the last 35 years. As Chairman of the „Kamalabai Gokhle Public Charitable Trust‟, his efforts have been in the direction of care and betterment of the disabled soldiers of the nation and the underprivileged sections of the society. He has acted in more than 100 films and television serials. Vikram Gokhle wins the coveted National award in 'Best Actor' category at the 60th National Film Festival Awards for his gripping portrayal of an aging man's attempts to save his dying wife in the moving Marathi film "Anumati".
