PHIL MCCONKEY JOINS ACADEMY SECURITIES AS PRESIDENT

White Plains, NY (April 20, 2011) – Academy Securities, Inc., a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business and provider of trading, funds placement, investment banking, and strategic partnering services announced the addition of Phil McConkey as its new President.

Mr. McConkey brings with him a depth of experience in the financial services industry having specialized in national sales efforts for products and services including trading, research, investment banking, alternative investment strategies, and private client services. In this capacity he has worked as a Director at Point Capital Markets LLC., Head of Business Development for Malbac, a division of BNP Paribas, FTN Midwest Securities, Deutsche Bank and Executive Vice President and National Sales Manager for G.G.E.T. LLC. Prior to entering the financial services industry, he was a professional broadcaster for the NY Giants, CBS Sports, Comcast, and FOX NY. He played for six years in the NFL, including a Super Bowl Championship season with the New York Giants. Mr. McConkey also played for the Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals and the San Diego Chargers.

Mr. McConkey is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis. He served five years in the US Navy as an aviator and nuclear weapons transshipment pilot.
