In the Clubhouse (including balconies):

1. Neat casual wear is acceptable. This includes: sports shirts with long or short sleeves (ladies may wear sleeveless with collar), Club or other jumper with shirt or polo neck. 2. At official Club functions (including major prizegiving events) it is requested that jacket, shirt and tie or polo neck be worn. Jacket and tie may be removed at the discretion of the Captain, Lady Captain or Officer of the Club in attendance. 3. Not permitted: tee-shirts, caps or hats, golf shoes, runners or training shoes. Shorts are not allowed in the dining or meeting rooms. 4. Tailored shorts, worn with sports socks, are permitted in the bar and balconies up to 7.30 pm. 5. Juniors: (a) neat dress is essential at all times (shirts may not be worn outside trousers). Smart clean trainers/ runners are acceptable (b) at certain times and at the discretion of the Club management, an area may be set aside for use by Juniors when smart clean jeans, sport shirts and trainers will be acceptable but only in that specific area.

On the Course:

1. Golf shoes must have soft spikes and no other footwear is acceptable.

2. For Men: Slacks or tailored shorts, no shorter than upper knee length, may be worn with sports socks.

3. For Ladies: Slacks, knee length skirts or tailored shorts; no collarless shirts, sun tops, tank tops or tee- shirts.

4. Trousers should not be tucked into socks. Jeans, track or leisure suits and football jerseys are not acceptable.

SECURITY MEASURES The Management Committee wish to remind all Members that the Club does not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to vehicles or their contents in the car park, nor items of personal property left in the Clubhouse (including balconies). Members and visitors are requested to ensure that all access doors remain locked. Please use door release to exit.

MOBILE PHONES The use of mobile phones is not permitted in the Clubhouse (including balconies) except in the reception area on the ground floor. Mobiles are not to be used on the course, except in the case of an emergency. Members are urged to bring mobile phones so that immediate contact can be made with the Clubhouse (Phone number on scorecard). VISITORS All visitors playing in Club Competitions are required to provide evidence of their Home Club and Handicap.

DEFIBRILLATOR A Defibrillator is located in the Bellevue Bar. Emergency: 01-2874690 TIME SHEETS 1. A competitor late on the tee shall forfeit his/her position and shall not be allowed play until a suitable vacancy arises. 2. A competitor who cannot play in a competition for which he/she has booked on the time sheet is expected to give timely notice of his/her withdrawal to his/her playing partner and/or opponents. Failure to comply with this rule, or any other breach of Club regulations relating to the operation of time sheets, will be dealt with by the Club Committee.

1. Slow play takes from our enjoyment of the game. Please comply with the Club Policy on Pace of Play. Ensure you keep up with the players in front. In competitions, players searching for a ball should allow the match following to play through. Also, players who lose a hole to those in front should on request allow those behind to play through.

2. Members, guests and visitors are advised that metal spikes are prohibited.

3. All pitch marks must be properly repaired when fresh. Please use a pitch-repairer at all times

4. Buggies must be driven on the paths or in the rough. Under no circumstances are buggies or trollies allowed on the greens, collars, approaches and tees. The Club Buggy Etiquette should be observed at all times.

5. Replace divots and rake bunkers. Please use bins and observe signs and use airbay when exiting course.

6. Members playing in competitions have priority on the course over all other players.

CLOSURE OF COURSE

Part or all of the course may be closed when weather conditions make this necessary. Phone 01-2874536 and dial 1 for Course Information or check with the Pro Shop.

MENS CLUB ELIGIBILITY FOR CAPTAIN’S PRIZE To qualify to win the Captain’s Prize, a player must return a minimum of three (3) Delgany Club qualifying singles cards in that year AND in the preceding year. Time sheets will be in operation for the qualifying rounds and players MAY NOT change their time on the time sheet or transfer from one day to the other after the Thursday before the competition, without the prior approval of the Competitions Committee.

THE LIMITS FOR MATCH PLAY COMPETITIONS

1. All matches should be played on/before the date indicated on the match play sheet. The dates, from Round 1 up to and including the final will be laid down by the Competitions Committee.

2. Should competitors fail to agree on a date to play a match, timely notice (minimum 7 days prior to stipulated time limit) should be given to the Competitions Committee for arbitration. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.

GOLFER OF THE YEAR

1. Points will be awarded for the first ten places in each of the following competitions: Monthly Medals, Professional’s Prize, Lady Captain’s Prize and President’s Prize. Points will be awarded for the first 15 places in the Captain’s Prize. In the case of (i) Singles Matchplay two points will be awarded for each match won and (ii) in the Bellevue Cup two points will be awarded to each of eight qualifiers and for each match won.

2. The competitor with the highest aggregate of points when all qualifying events have been completed will be declared ‘Golfer of the Year’. A tie will be decided on the points scored in the Captain’s Prize. If a tie still ensues, the prize will be awarded on the basis of the ten cards in which the highest aggregate points have been scored, and so on to nine cards, eight cards, etc.. 10

1. The Committee reserves the right: (a) to correct any error(s) that may be made in checking cards and to make appropriate alterations to the results; (b) to alter competitions and/or rules of competitions as is deemed appropriate.

2. In the event of a tie cards will be ranked on the basis of scores obtained over/at the last 9, 6, 3, 2, 1 holes (18, 15 and 12 hole competitions) or the last 6, 3, 2, 1 holes (9 hole competitions). If the result is still tied, cards will then be ranked on the last 8, 7, 5, 4 holes.

3. Fourballs are not allowed to play in singles competitions, unless stated explicitly as allowed in the competition. The penalty for breach of this rule is disqualification.

4. A player’s name, WHS Handicap Index, Course Handicap along with player’s and marker’s signature must appear on the scorecard. All WHS handicaps are available on Club Notice Boards.

STARTING POINTS

1. To facilitate the smooth running of competitions, competitors may be asked by a member of the Competitions Committee or the Club Professional to commence play at a hole other than the first.

2. Unless a time sheet is in operation, competitors may start from the 3rd, 5th, 7th or 10th tees provided that in so doing, they do not hold up other players and advise the Club Professional beforehand. On reaching the 1st tee, they may have to wait their turn to continue play.

3. Competitors who commence a 2 x 9 hole competition at the 3rd, 5th or 7th tees may, in the interest of continuity, play the back 9 holes before completing the remaining holes on the first 9.

4. Those who start at any hole other than those indicated will be disqualified.

1. The Committee reserve the right:

a) To correct any error(s) that may be made in checking cards and to make appropriate alterations to the results;

b) To alter competitions and/or rules of competitions as deemed appropriate.

2. Members are not eligible to play in any competition unless their annual subscription has been paid.

3. It is the responsibility of every player to see that her name and handicap are entered in the Competition Book and entry fee paid, prior to commencing the competition of the day. All handicap charts are available on club notice boards Player’s name, Handicap Index, Course Handicap and players/markers signatures must be on the score card. In qualifying competitions, players should enter the Computer prior to commencing the competition of the day and enter their score on the computer regardless of score. This is required to ensure that the PCC for the day is correctly assessed.

4. Entry Fees for Competitions: See list of current entry fees in the Ladies Locker Room.

5. During the winter months on Tuesdays, the timesheet will be in operation until 12.52 pm. Open Draws will then take place at 1.00 & 1.30 pm after which competitors play as they arrive, no timesheet. SUBJECT TO COVID CONDITIONS After 1.30 members should play as they arrive only after registering in the Pro Shop.

6. It is the responsibility of every player to record Away scores including Society outings, ProAm & team events in the Away Scores Book in the Ladies’ Locker Room.

When bad weather delays the competition start time, the first competitors may start from the 3rd, 5th, 7th or 10th tees but only when directed by the Club Professional or his delegate. On reaching the 1st tee these players will have to wait their turn to continue play. Players not adhering to the above will be disqualified.

8. Casual play and matches can be arranged before 08.15am and after the last competition tee time on Tuesdays, except on Major Competition Days and must not interfere with the competition of the day.

9. Ordinary Members may opt to play on an Alternate Day on the previous weekend for Majors and Medals. One week’s notice must be given to the Competition’s Secretary of a Member’s intention to compete on the Alternate Day. Major Competitions are: Lady Captain’s Prize; Captain’s Prize to the Ladies; President’s Prize to the Ladies; Professional’s Prize to the Ladies and The Hamper. All Majors and Medals qualify towards The Golfer of the Year (GOY).

10. Three 18 Hole Delgany competition cards must be submitted prior to the Lady Captain’s Prize in order to be eligible to win First Prize.

11. No extensions are allowed in matches unless in exceptional circumstances and agreed with the Match Referee.

12. Timesheets will openat 9 am on the Monday one week in advance of the Tuesday and Thursday Competitions (two weeks for an Open) and at 9 am on Fridays for weekend competitions.
