Brad McCredie IBM Fellow, Vice President of IBM Power Systems Development, and President of the OpenPOWER Foundation, IBM USA Dr. Bradley McCredie is an IBM Fellow, Vice President of IBM Power Systems Development, and one of the founders of the OpenPOWER Foundation. He is also a member of IBM’s Technology Team, a senior executive group that sets IBM’s technical strategy. In his current position, he oversees the global development and delivery of IBM Power Systems. Jeff Stuecheli Senior Technical Staff Member and POWER Systems Hardware Architect, Austin TX, IBM USA

Dr. Stuecheli is a Senior Technical Staff Member in the Systems and Technology Group. He works in the area of server hardware architecture. His most recent work includes advanced memory architectures, cache coherence, and accelerator design. He has contributed to the development of numerous IBM products in the POWER architecture family, most recently the POWER8 design. He has been appointed an IBM Master Inventor, authoring ~100 patents.

David Sheffield Senior Technical Staff Member (STSM) and AIX Architect, Austin TX, IBM USA

David is a Senior Technical Staff Member on the AIX Architecture team who has worked in AIX development for 28 years. His current focus is AIX Live Update, a no-reboot-required OS update capability. His career in AIX has included media and network device drivers, system bring-up, Virtual Memory Manager, NFS, and Workload Partitions. David is a frequent presenter at Customer Briefings and IBM Technical University. He lives in Austin, Texas with his wife of 20 years and 3 children.

Jennifer Lin Senior Offering Manager – AIX & PowerSC, Austin TX, IBM USA Jennifer Lin is IBM's worldwide product offering manager for AIX and PowerSC. As the business owner for both of these products, she works with cross-functional teams across IBM to drive future product

direction and focus product positioning. She has found that partnering with—and listening to—our clients is the best way to ensure that we are delivering something of value.

Jennifer has worked with Power Systems for her entire career, starting with seven years as a software engineer in IBM’s . Most recently, she led three teams in applying IBM Design Thinking to Power Systems products as part of IBM’s renewed focus on user experience design.

IBM i

Alison Butterill IBM i Product Offering Manager, Austin TX, IBM USA Alison Butterill is the WW Product Offering Manager for IBM i. In this role, she works with the IBM i team to define the future of IBM i including the content for releases and technology refreshes. Her responsibilities include working with the IBM i sales, marketing, development teams as well as clients and partners to ensure that the IBM i Operating System and associated software products reflect their requirements.

Having worked in the mid-range area for more than 30 years, Alison has held a wide variety of positions at IBM, primarily with midrange servers and software. She has held a range of positions including field Systems Engineer, an instructor in Customer Technical Education, national support representative for IBM Canada, and Worldwide Technical Marketing support representative for the development tools and compilers from the IBM Toronto Laboratory.

Alison is a regular speaker at industry and technical conferences around the world.

Jim Denton Senior Consultant, DB2 for i, Rochester MN, IBM USA

Jim Denton is a senior consultant in the Lab Services DB2 for i team where his responsibilities include both customized skills transfer and hands on consulting. Jim specializes in SQL performance, data-centric programming, and database modernization. Jim started his IBM career in 1981 as an S/38 operating system programmer. Before joining the consulting team, his key assignments included 10 years as a systems performance specialist, five years as the lead “JDE on i”performance analyst, three years as a consultant at the IBM Benchmark and Briefing Center in Montpellier France, and a total of 11 years as an operating system developer, including five years designing and implementing enhancements to DB2 for i.

IBM z Systems

Marna Walle Senior Technical Staff Member, z/OS Development, Poughkeepsie, IBM USA Marna Walle is an IBM Senior Technical Staff Member in the z/OS Development organization in Poughkeepsie, New York. Her current responsibilities include z/OS release migration and installation improvements, and other interesting z/OS assignments. Marna is a frequent speaker at customer conferences.

Glenn Anderson

Managing Consultant, Lab Services and Training, Chicago, IBM USA Glenn Anderson is currently a Managing Consultant with IBM STG Lab Services and Training, where he serves as the Program Manager for World-Wide STG System z Technical Conferences. Glenn is a popular technical, personal development and keynote speaker at mainframe conferences throughout the world. During his 40 years with IBM, Glenn has held positions in sales, technical support and management. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Joy Spohn Systems Leader, Big Data & Analytics on z Systems, San Jose, IBM USA Joy Spohn is the Worldwide Sales Leader for Big Data Analytics on z Systems. Her mission is to help customers derive value from their most critical asset, their data. Success is driven by giving customers the tools to break down barriers and empower them to integrate business process, social tools and reliable data in a trusted environment for a competitive advantage. Joy has 23 yrs with IBM. She was a developer in IMS followed by 12 yrs of management in Business Intelligence, DB2 z/OS IMS.

Susanne Wintenberger IT Specialist, Linux on z Systems Development, Boeblingen, IBM Germany

Susanne Wintenberger is a Certified IT Specialist in the IBM Laboratory, Boeblingen, Germany. She works for the Linux on z Systems and KVM for z Systems development team and primarily supports customers. She has about 25 years experience as a systems and application programmer at IBM in a variety of projects centred on the IBM mainframe.

Peter Van Dyke Senior Software Engineer, Systems, Perth, IBM Australia Peter has worked in System z software development with IBM for over 25 years. Over that time he has contributed to the development of a number of COBOL compiler and run-time releases for both z/OS and VSE, developed the VSE version of Debug Tool, led the team which developed Language Environment for VSE, and also lead the team which did the initial development of the IMS feature of File Manager. He also spent over 12 years as the architect and lead developer of the ISPF base element of z/OS.

IBM Storage

Andrew Greenfield Global XIV & Flash Engineer, Phoenix AZ, IBM USA Andrew is an IBM Global XIV & Flash Engineer based in Phoenix, Arizona, but travels weekly. He holds numerous technical certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, as well as IBM. He is also responsible for many of the photos and videos featured in A9000 Redbook as well as XIV, and IBM.com. Andrew brings over 24 years of data center experience inside the Fortune 100, to the IBM team. He graduated Honors; Magna cum Laude, from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Andrew has also written several earlier XIV Gen3 Redbooks as well as the new A9000 and been involved with many storage vendors over his 27 year IT career. He has been a professional wedding photographer for the last 24 years and been featured in several national Ads and awards.

Barry Whyte Master Inventor & Advanced Technical Sales Support for Storage Virtualization, Auckland, IBM NZ

Barry Whyte is a 'Master Inventor' working in the Systems Group. Now based in Auckland New Zealand, Barry is working for the IBM ATS team covering Storage Virtualization for the AP region. Previously Barry was based in IBM Hursley, UK. Barry primarly works on the IBM SAN Volume Controller and Storwize family of virtual disk systems. Barry graduated from The University of Glasgow in 1996 with a B.Sc (Hons) in Computing Science. In his 20 years at IBM he has also worked on the successful Serial Storage Architecture (SSA) and the IBM DS8000 range. Barry joined the SVC development team soon after its inception and has held many positions before taking on his long running role as performance architect. In 2015 Barry moved to New Zealand, but maintains a part-time working role for the Hursley team working as a performance consultant.
