This program is a one-year certificate program. If you enjoy caring for others, the Continuing Care Assistant program might be right for you. You’ll work directly with clients in long-term care, home care, assisted living, and even special needs classrooms. You will help them with mobility, personal care, assisting them to eat their meals and medication monitoring. This is the second year of the diploma program. The Youth Care Worker program will help you develop the skills you need to build healthy relationships with children, youth and families. You will get practical experience planning and implementing activities geared towards youth. You will learn about addictions, the criminal justice system, behavioural intervention strategies, therapeutic activities, and Indigenous awareness, among other topics making you a valuable support staff for youth in your community.
