Greetings Nighthawk Nation:

It is hard to believe that we are nearing the end of winter sports and are nearing the beginning of spring season. Nighthawk programs are making a push for post-season play during the first year of varsity competition and games have been exciting and have featured phenomenal student and community support. The Nighthawk Girls Swim team has nearly triple participation numbers and all swimmers have set personal records and a handful hope to make it to compete post-season.

This year in addition to , Boys , Girls Soccer, Girls and Track, Nighthawk Nation will launch inaugural seasons for Girls Lacrosse and Girls . This has been the direct result of parent support and forecasting numbers with the district, and will bring the total to 20 Nighthawk sports programs available to Northfield students.

The district is set to open FamilyID registration by end of the week and all information can be found HERE on the Northfield website. All student athletes will need to register with FamilyID for the spring season and have an up-to-date (within the year) physical form completed and on file by February 25.

CHSAA now requires each student-athlete to create an account on ArbiterAthlete in order to be eligible to participate in sports. Each student- athlete only needs to do this once for their high school athletic career in Colorado. If you have already registered once for Arbiter Athlete, then there is no need to do so again.

To create an account on ArbiterAthlete & follow NORTHFIELD HIGH SCHOOL from your phone, text S41192 to 69274. Text HELP to 69274 for more information. Text STOP to 69274 to opt out. Msg & Data rates may apply. The wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Number of messages vary per user. Registration can also be completed online at arbiterathlete.com.

Hoping to have a high number of Nighthawk student-athletes out for Spring sports.

A Record Setting Season For Girls Swim

Hard work, lifting weights, daily practices, and dedication have paid off as Girls Swimming achieves personal bests, set school records, and develops an outstanding competitive and devoted team. Last Saturday, the team placed 3rd in the DPS League B-Meet with swimmers qualifying for the A-Meet this Thursday and Friday at Manual HS at 4:15 pm.

Coach Kocher and staff are dedicated to building a comprehensive program developing all levels of ability to reach their potential as athletes and continuing the Nighthawk tradition!

Swimming final meet is Wednesday, January 31, and seniors include Kaitlin Kocher, Giselle Reinhardt, and Elena Miranda-Hernandez.

TOGETHER WE CELEBRATE

Boys Basketball In The Midst of Conference Play

The boys took it to the road and had some big wins over North on 1/17, then West on 1/22. A fantastic game took place last Friday at GW – the varsity boys played some great ball, had the lead at halftime thanks to a half court thriller, but could not come away with the win. The future looks bright for our Nighthawks!

Join Boys & Girls at the Nest this week. This Thursday 1/31, the Lady Nighthawks take on the Lincoln Lancers at 5:30 pm, followed by the Boys Varsity at 7 pm. This should be a great 4A matchup with some of the best in the state. The Boys C Team then JV play on Saturday 2/2 at home starting at 9 am. See schedule.

Inaugural Senior Night for Girls and Boys Basketball is coming up. You're invited to the Nest to support and celebrate our SENIORS in their final Nighthawk season.

Boys Basketball: Tuesday, February 5 v. Kennedy High School at 7pm Seniors include Cyncere Philips, Elijah Watkins, Jasyah Mize, Darbrey Johnson, and Richard Swanson

Girls Basketball: Tuesday, February 12 v. East High School at 7pm. Seniors include Xyla Ontiveros and Zion Smith Girls Basketball On A Winning Streak

The Lady Nighthawks have won three out of their last four conference games. The streak started with a gutsy win on the road against Denver North. The game came down to the last two seconds with a shot at the buzzer with Northfield coming out on top with a 58-56 victory! The winning streak continued against Denver West, final score 76-39, and Regis Groff, 72-52. Girls takes on Lincoln at HOME today.

The Lady Nighthawks are now 3-3 in conference play and are starting to understand what teamwork and hard work looks like. Congratulations to Coach Jones and the team who are looking forward to a chance at a playoff bid in their first Varsity season. Come support these young ladies in the last four games of the season.
