The PEP leads 36-3 Waves earned a 3-0 victory over the Bulldogs on Sept. 28 in both schools first WCC match of the season. Pepperdine holds a 36-3 lead in the all-time series and has won the last 19 matches dating back to the 1997 season. The Waves currently hold an 8-10 overall record and a 4-3 record in the WCC. Pepperdine, who is coming off a 3-0 loss to Loyola Marymount, are led by Rachel Lumsden who is averaging 3.52 kills and 2.53 digs per game. A LOOK AHEAD: After its matches against Loyola Marymount University and Pepperdine University, Gonzaga University will close out its three-game homestand when it welcomes the University of Portland to the Martin Center on Nov. 4. Match time is slated for 1 p.m. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - OCTOBER 25, 2006 A RECAP OF LAST WEEK: Gonzaga University continued its West Coast Conference season with matches at the University of San Francisco and at Saint Mary’s College last week. Gonzaga began the week with a 3-0 loss to San Francisco before bouncing back and earning a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Saint Mary’s. The Bulldogs currently 2006 Gonzaga Volleyball Schedule hold a 6-16 overall record and are 1-6 in conference. The win was the Bulldogs first conference victory of the season and first road Aug. 26 North Dakota State L, 3-2 conference win in 31 matches; nearly four seasons. The last time GU earned a WCC road Aug. 26 South Dakota State L, 3-2 win was during the 2002 season when it also defeated Saint Mary's by the same score. GONZAGA AGAINST THE DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Outside hitter Becky Jones has had a strong junior season so far 2006 AVCA/USA TODAY TOP 25 for Gonzaga University. Jones has had double-digit kills in 16 matches and double-digit (as of Oct. 23 2006) digs in 13 matches. She also has accumulated 10 double-doubles this season; including one 20/20 double-double. On the year, Jones leads the Bulldogs in kills (324) and is sec- ond in digs (263). Rank/Opponent Date/Result 5.
