Ms. No. 41/LAS/2017, Puducherry, dated 31st March 2017) ORDER The Government has directed all the Municipalities to undertake General Revision of Property Tax for the quinquennial period commencing from 1-4-2017 to 31-3-2022 vide G.O. Ms. No. 38, dated 9-3-2017 of the Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry. 2. In pursuance of sub-rule (2) of rule 3 of the Puducherry Municipalities (Assessment of Annual Rental Value of Buildings/Houses) Rules, 2000, the Commissioners of all the Municipalities with the approval of the Authorized Officer concerned have furnished the lists of Main Roads/Streets, Secondary Main Roads/ Streets and Other Roads/Streets in the respective territorial jurisdiction of each Municipality, for the purpose of classification of buildings as required under rule 3 (1) of the said rules, based on their locations, for assessment of annual rental value of buildings. Note No. 1516/LAD/PPS(3)/2016, dated 6-3-2017 from the Director, Local Administration Secretariat, Puducherry, has recommended that the lists of roads/streets furnished by the Commissioners of all the Municipalities are in order. 4. Therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred upon by sub-rule (2) of rule 3 of the Puducherry Municipalities (Assessment of Annual Rental Value of Buildings/Houses) Rules, 2000, approval of the Government is hereby accorded to the lists of Main Roads/Streets, Secondary Main Roads/Streets and Other Roads/ Streets in the respective territorial jurisdiction of Puducherry Municipality, Oulgaret Municipality, Karaikal Municipality, Mahe Municipality and Yanam Municipality as given in Annexure-I to V respectively. 5. The Commissioners of all the Municipalities shall publish the lists of Main Roads/Streets, Secondary Main Roads/Streets and Other Roads/Streets in the Official Gazette for the information of the public. Besides, they should give an advertisement in the newspapers as a news item. Further, the lists shall be displayed on the notice-board of the respective Municipality. (By order) K.
