Faculty of Fine Arts, Concordia University’s Faculty of Fine Arts is unique in Canada. We offer, in a single faculty, an unparalleled range of programs in the visual, performing, cinematic, design and digital arts. More than 3,700 students are enrolled in 58 under- graduate and graduate programs in an environment that reflects the openness and diversity of contemporary culture. We are strongly committed to integrating new technologies, traditional media and historical fine arts practices. Our faculty members, numbering 117 full-time professors and a significant number of part-time professors, are artists and scholars who are active on the international and national stage and equally engaged in the Montreal community.

Top honours for Fine Arts faculty Genie, Jutra and Oscar nod for Incendies Several Fine Arts faculty members have garnered some André Turpin, BFA 89 Film Production, won both Genie of Canada’s highest honours in the past few years. and Jutra awards for his cinematography in the film Congratulations to our faculty for their significant Incendies at the 2011 awards ceremonies. The film was also contributions to Canada’s visual and performing arts. Canada’s entry for best foreign language film at the Academy Awards in February 2011.

Arcade Fire wins Grammy and BRIT awards The Montreal-based band won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards in February 2011 followed by best International Album and best International Group at the BRIT Awards. Two of the seven band members are graduates of the Faculty’s Electroacoustic Studies program: , BFA 03, and Sarah Neufeld, BFA 03. Concordia is home to Canada’s largest online electroacoustic music archive.
