Our ‘new’ Studio, called LyvStudio, is under development. This Studio screen also has a few additions located above the old-Studio. The Media Console Studio screen is located - https://krykey.com/KMC/STUDIO.PHP

 You will need ADOBE FLASH installed in the browser and activated to use the online Studio  The browsers Chrome and Safari do not work correctly. Firefox with Adobe Flash works the best.

We have made a better song, podcast, promo, advert, news management feature inside the Media Console via the MEDIA screens which are located here - https://krykey.com/KMC/MUSIC-UPLOAD.PHP the landing screen for all media is the music library upload / add screen. It is recommended to use the media console media screens for managing your media. [jump in document]

SITE MANAGEMENT - POSTERS SITES You have many posters and some of those are on your radio station web site and any of them can be added to any site/blog that accepts standard HTML code. Adding Posters to any site/blog is just the same and easy as previous components. We just stress that the graphic should be the exact size or it will be distorted and will not look professional for you. Posters are just like what you see around in public. You can upload a graphic and add a link and then once added to a site/blog, anyone that clicks/taps that Poster they are taken to the link you added. Great for promoting shows, artists or you could even sell the space to a business for advertising.

1. This is the landing screen for Site Posters 2. The Poster name – it is yellow when it has a Poster in the slot 3. The size of the Poster in pixels (must be PNG format) 4. Add a link to a site so the person who sees the poster can click on it and be taken to the site – HTTP/HTTPS is required on all addresses 5. Upload your Poster, View your Poster, or delete your Poster 6. Save your changes

As with all components, the Posters are dynamic, so when you change them they change on your site or where you added them to. To add them to any site or blog go to your Media Console WIDGETS Media screen and select the Poster, create the code and add to the site/blog.

DETROIT LOVE RADIO 1. 320X100 2. 320X320 3. 300X100 4. 320X320 5. 300X100 6. 300X300

NO FILTER RADIO SHOW 1. 300X100 2. 400X100 3. 100X200 4. 330X100 5. 100X400

UPDATING POSTERS When you update a poster, it may not show / display the update on the site when you immediately look and this is due to your browser not getting / asking for the new information. To see it immediately:

 You can either use another browser to look,  or right click on the graphic on the site and select view image, the old image will be displayed, just refresh page and the new graphic will be displayed, and then go back to your site and the new poster will be there

Daily visitors will always get the new version when they come to where the poster is embedded. We have found the new Firefox seems to be able to get the info on each refresh of the site. Chrome would be the worst offender as it is just a resource hog.

These are only displayed if a Poster has been added and the ‘donations-to’ has been added in the STAFF OWNERS screen.

To use these Posters, first have the Owner of the radio station add the donation address to the station on the Staff Owners screen (see screen shot to the right)

Then go to the Donations Poster screen at SITE

POSTERS DONATIONS (https://krykey.com/KMC/POSTER-DONATION.php) and add the donation picture. The screen shot on the right displays: 1. DONATIONS 2. Donation Poster Label 3. Donation Poster Size 4. Upload / View / Delete - upload a picture (must be PNG format and correct size) - view the picture/poster - delete the picture/poster (note if you have this donation poster added to a web site it will display a big error link message) 5. Save you changes and additions

Your Donation Posters once uploaded/added can then be added to any web site and when you change the Poster it will change on the site. The link always remains the Donation Address of the Radio Station.

To get the code for the Donation Posters go to the WIDGETS MEDIA screen (https://krykey.com/KMC/MEDIA.php) and select the Donation Poster from the dropdown and create the code, copy it and add/embed to the web page.

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 98 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 LYVSHOW LyvShow is a PC App for Windows PCs that allow you to “GRAB” your PCs audio channel and then stream it out to our servers and out via your radio station and its devices & streams, and also record that audio channel.

The design for LyvShow is called the MMI (Mr Miyagi Interface) and LyvShow has three main functions which are: 1. STREAM ON / STREAM OFF – start or stop the streaming out 2. STATUS ALERTS – send a status alert to the players 3. RECORD ON / RECORD OFF – record your shows 4. SETTINGS – recording bitrates & login details 5. HELP – opens help screen

The ‘map’ below displays how LyvShow ‘takes’ control of the Studio stream y jumping between the Studio & KryKey Servers. You cannot use the Studio while using LyvShow and it must stay open. Any of those two broken and the LyvShow PC App gives the stream back to the Studio.

A – STUDIO TO SERVER STREAM 1. Studio 2. stream to the KryKey servers 3. 4. KryKey Servers

B – STUDIO TO SERVER STREAM 1. Studio 2. Stream to the KryKey Servers 3. LyvShow 4. KryKey Servers

INSTALL LYVSHOW The LyvShow PC App is ONLY available for Windows PCs and Surface Tablets and can be installed (correctly: install steps must be followed exactly or Windows Security will block use) via this link: https://krykey.com/SUPPORT/help- LYVSHOW-install.htm -

The install has two parts, the first one maybe installed already on some Windows 10 PC’s & Surface Tablets, the second part is the LyvShow PC App.

The install will also ask you to install Adobe Air as this is required to run the LyvShow PC App.

At the end of the install you will get a message which must state it was successfully installed the drivers.

If it does not install correctly, the LyvShow PC App will not function as designed. This is important.

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 99 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 WARNING: THE INSTALL PROCESS MUST BE EXACTLY FOLLOWED

THIS IS THE MESSAGE YOU MUST GET 

If you have install issues, KryKey can help by you installing Teamviewer, and then once it is installed & running, send the id/password to connect remotely. And KryKey will login, install LyvShow, test the stream out with some music on YouTube, listen to your radio station and once verified LyvShow is doing what is supposed to, will logout and leave you to using it.

The design for this PC App was to be able to grab/take any sound that is on the PC’s out-audio-channel and then send that to our KryKey servers.

The browser running the Studio is important and make sure –  It doesn’t refresh of the connection to LyvShow and out will be broken  The browser isn’t being used for other web sites, best the Studio remain open and no other site uses the Browser, we recommend Firefox or even Comodo IceDragon (not Comodo Dragon) and never use Chrome/Safari for the Studio  When using LyvShow the Studio MUST be outside the Media Console by itself

USE ANY PROGRAM You can use any program that makes a sound on your computer and stream it out, or as we say:

IF YOU CAN HEAR IT, YOU CAN STREAM IT

It means exactly what it says, that if you can hear the program making the sound/noise, then the LyvShow PC App will GRAB/TAKE that sound/noise from the audio-out-channel of you PC and send it to our servers and then to your radio stations devices and streams.

The Volume control for the sound/noise, let us call this CONTENT, is the program you are using. So for example if you are using your PCs Media Player to play ‘content’, then the volume for that streaming content is ‘the-media-player’. So you can turn down the volume on your PC without worry it is affecting the volume the listeners are hearing.

Please read the how-to-use online help after installing LyvShow, which can be found here: https://krykey.com/SUPPORT/help-LYVSHOW-using.htm

The two buttons on LyvShow that get you streaming your content is the:  STREAM ON – click to capture Studio stream to KryKey Servers  STREAM OFF – click to disconnect the stream from the KryKey Servers and hand control back to the Studio

The steps to start streaming with LyvShow are:  Open LyvShow  Open the program you are going to use to play ‘content’

1. Click STREAM ON 2. Play your content

When you are finished, all you need to do is log into the Studio click PLAY and the music from the Studio is live & LyvShow is cutoff. You can then close LyvShow & your program.

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 100 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 SOME EXAMPLE S OF PROGRAMS TO PLAY CONTENT  RADIODJ  VIRTUALDJ  SAM BROADCASTER  MEDIA PLAYER (ANY)  BROWSER (ANY)

An example scenario might be this:  your already using LyvShow and playing content from RadioDJ & talking to your listeners  you then ask those to call in using these options - Skype : they can call via the Skype app Phone : you can add a phone number in your area with Skype for around $50 per year, then caller can call on their phones and you answer them via Skype Viber : you have the Viber desktop app open  you get people calling in and as they talk they are streamed out – LIVE TALK BACK SHOWS  if you had a video chat you can have the audio stream out as well  you’re talking about something in the news to you callers and listeners, so you open your browser and go to a news site and play the news report and the audio is streamed out  calls are finished play your music  maybe you want to play a trailer from the movie coming up, open YouTube, play it and the sound is streamed out

COMPLETE FLEXIBILITY OF PROVIDING CONTENT TO STREAM OUT WHEN USING LYVSHOW

STATUS-ALERTS You can even send messages, or as we like to call them, STATUS-ALERTS direct to your main player on your web site with LyvShow. Online help: https://krykey.com/SUPPORT/help-LYVSHOW- using.htm#STATUS-ALERTS_ - The Players also have “STATUS-ALERTS” which is linked to our LyvShow PC App – you can tell your listeners your ‘status’ at a touch of a button!

1. On Air 2. Live 3. Phone Now 4. DJ Is In

These can be seen on all of the KryKey Players at the top left hand side of the player.

RECORDING While playing the content form the programs you are using, having listeners call-in and chat on air, you can RECORD it all, so you can then add the LyvCast to your Podcast Library via the Media Console’s Media Podcast Management screens. The Record feature also uses the Mr Miyagi Interface (MMI) developed in-house with the following options to record your radio shows: https://krykey.com/SUPPORT/help-LYVSHOW- using.htm#RECORDING_

 RECORD ON – click to START recording  RECORD OFF – click to STOP recording

How Many Minutes Can You Record For? It will record until you click Stop or your hard-drive runs out of space. But you can only upload/add LyvCasts (podcasts) of up to 250Mb to your podcast library. This upload limit can be increased for a small monthly fee. Also the size will not only depend on how-long-you-recorded, but also

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 101 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 what BITRATE you chose for the LyvCast recording. This Bitrate can be set in the SETTING screen of LyvShow. Once you click STOP, you will be asked to name the LyvCast (podcast) and where to save it. You can then retrieve it later for editing (best to edit the start & ends – see KryKey Tools screen).

LYVSHOW SETTINGS The LyvShow Settings include: Online help https://krykey.com/SUPPORT/help-LYVSHOW-using.htm#SETTINGS_

1. EMAIL – your login email for LyvShow & Media Console 2. YOUTUBE – linked to the LyvShow help video 3. PASSCODE – your login passcode for LyvShow & Media Console 4. BITRATE – choose the bitrate you want the LyvCast to be recorded at - 192K or 256K or 320K (default recording bitrate) 5. SAVE – save any changes you made 6. CLOSE

The email & passcode are the SAME ones in the Media Console. If you change it in LyvShow or your Media Console it changes for both.

The best quality is 320K, but this creates larger file sizes. 250Mb max for uploads via the Media Console Media Podcast management screens & only 140Mb for uploads via the Studio Podcast Library.

USING LYVSHOW & LYVSTREAM If you have LyvStream, then when you switch from the Studio play to LyvShow (play), you must reset the LyvStream ‘streams’. To do this you must open the Studio screen in the Media Console and when after you start using LyvShow and the program you are using to play the content, you must click the LYVSTREAM button (see #1 below in screenshot) and wait until DISCONNECT is displayed (see #2 in screenshot below), and then about 5 seconds alter click the LYVSTREAM button again until the it displays CONNECTED. Your LyvStream should now be streaming to your LyvRadio & Tunein Apps.

MICROPHONE & LYVSHOW If you are not using a DJ Studio, you need to set up your microphone so LyvShow can ‘hear-it’ – see this online help on how to set it up: https://krykey.com/SUPPORT/help-skype.htm#SETTING_YOUR_MICROPHONE_ VIBER & LYVSHOW If you want to use Viber with LyvShow see this help video: https://krykey.com/SUPPORT/help-Viber.htm SKYPE & LYVSHOW If you want to use Viber with LyvShow see this help video: https://krykey.com/SUPPORT/help-skype.htm#USE_SKYPE_ VIRTUAL MIXERS - WARNING A virtual mixer like Voicemeeter which has been found to cut off access to the audio stream for LyvShow at a random time period, this issue may affect you if you use it.

In the example below windows media player is the master volume control for streaming out and recording, so LyvShow volumes must be equal. To check or adjust Right Click on the speaker icon at the bottom of your PC & select OPEN VOLUME MIXER

RECORDING PODCASTS When you want to record a Podcasts first decide what bitrate you want the LyvCast (podcast) and set this in the SETTING screen of LyvShow. The default recording bitrate is 320K. This is a handy tool that can be used even if not connected to the Studio (stand-alone) as you can record your shows or music offline.

 Example 1: make a playlist in windows media player (#1), play this and record with LyvShow (#3), then after you save it trim the start and end and then upload to your podcast library using the media console. You could use songs (#B) and promos/drops (#A) to make your podcast, see the duration as you build it by #C

 Example 2: out with your surface tablet or laptop and record the live event using LyvShow and then after trimming upload to your podcast library using the media console

 Example 3: go to a news site to get the latest news, record using LyvShow, and then after trimming upload to your podcast library using the media console

 Example 4: make a promo by recording your voice and music at the same time using LyvShow, and then after trimming upload to your podcast library using the media console

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 103 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 LYVSTREAM LyvStream was designed to take the RTMP (Flash) stream and convert it (live) to an AAC HLS format. The LyvStream feature is a fee based. If you have LyvStream you also have LyvRadio & LyvAir as a free extra. This is a new technology and the stream quality is not guaranteed due to the conversion process done by a 3rd party. You can see your LyvStream addresses in the Media Console Manage screen LyvStreams section. The current formats available that have been converted are:

 AAC HLS – this is the new standard streaming format that is supposed to take over MP3 streaming as it is better quality. – this is an Apple format – HTML5 compatible – tested on the following players with a AAC HLS player: iOS, Android & Windows phones / PC browsers (all) – this is the stream Tunein uses for your radio station

ONLY USE THE BUTTON BELOW IF YOU ARE USING LYVSHOW LyvStream is controlled by you via the Media Console Studio screen:

1. LYVSTREAM button – click to connect and disconnect 2. LyvStream connection display – displays the connection status of the LyvStream

USING LYVSTREAM & LYVSHOW When you switch from the Studio play to LyvShow (play), you must reset the LyvStream ‘streams’. To do this you must open the Studio screen in the Media Console and when after you start using LyvShow and the program you are using to play the content, you must click the LYVSTREAM button (#1 above) and wait until DISCONNECT is displayed (#2 above) , and then about 5 seconds alter click the LYVSTREAM button again until the it displays CONNECTED. Your LyvStream should now be streaming to your LyvRadio & Tunein Apps.

CURRENT ISSUE WITH LYVSTREAM If your radio station is playing a songs individually, the conversion from RTMP to AAC is not smooth, with cut offs on the beginning of some songs. Because the way the convertor works, this cannot be fixed. But, for long podcasts, or LyvShows, as they are one continuous stream, the conversion happens with none of those issues or cutting off, etc. So we recommend that to get the best quality of the AAC stream, use it with podcasts or LyvShow. Playing individual songs (and promos) will have some stream issues.

TUNEIN If you want to add your radio station to the TUNEIN APPS (Android, Apple & Windows), then you send the LyvStream AAC HLS address to them. Their web player will not play this stream format or even our old RTMP format as they changed it over a year ago and it only accepts MP3 streams, but it WILL work on their ANDROID, APPLE & WINDOWS APPS. If you have ANY issues with TUNEIN, you need to contact their support system. The RTMP stream works on their Android & Apple Apps only.

This service is NOT free as your site will have to have a dedicated IP address and an SSL Certificate attached to it. The Minimum LYVSSL period is 12 months due to IP Address & SSL fees to other companies. Current fees are here

Those that have LYVSSL will also be displayed on the front screen of KryKey.com

To Get LYVSSL just ask via the KMC Support.

WHAT IS AN SSL CERTIFICATE? Digital certificates serve as the backbone of internet security. Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates, sometimes called digital certificates, are used to establish an encrypted connection between a browser or user’s computer and a server or website. The SSL connection protects sensitive data, such as credit card information, exchanged during each visit, which is called a session, from being intercepted from non-authorized parties.

Creating a Secure Connection SSL is the standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link — here’s how it works. Invisible to the end-user, a process called the “SSL handshake” creates a secure connection between a web server and a browser. Three keys are used to create a symmetric session key, which is then used to encrypt all in-transit data.

1. Server sends a copy of its asymmetric public key to browser. 2. Browser creates a symmetric session key and encrypts it with the server’s assymmetric public key then sends it to the server. 3. Server decrypts the encrypted session key using its asymmetric private key to get the symmetric session key. 4. Server and browser now encrypt and decrypt all transmitted data with the symmetric session key. This allows for a secure channel because only the browser and the server know the symmetric session key, and the session key is only used for that specific session. If the browser was to connect to the same server the next day, a new session key would be created.

Why You Should Use a Digital Certificate  Establish trust and online security for your website visitors and business  Google & Bing Search portals are only going to display web sites with HTTPS

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 118 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 KRYKEY MEDIA HACKS These ‘hacks’ will allow you to do things that is not displayed in any of the help on KryKey. The team at KryKey will add new ones regularly.

HACK ONE Any animated GIF can be displayed or added as a poster by changing the .GIF to .PNG It will ask you if you want to really change the extension, and click/tap YES.

HACK TWO You can see the Posters on the Poster screen in Poster SIZE order instead of name order by clicking/tapping the SIZE header on the screen. To get back to the normal Poster screen click/tap the Posters button.

HACK THREE Our standard (flash) Player which is on the web sites and can be added to ‘any’ site or page comes in two sizes of 400x125 & 300x125 and nine colours. These two sizes may not be the right size you require, but you can ‘hack’ the players size in the code to suit what you need. If you need a size between 300 and 400 pixels wide, create the player code for a 400x125 player and in the code change the 400 to the size you require. If you need a player that is between 200 and 300 pixels wide, create the player code for a 300x125 player and in the code change the 300 to the size you require. After you have added it to the page or site, take a look and see if it looks and more importantly FUNCTIONS correctly & adjust as necessary.

HACK FOUR A great little unknown way to listen to songs on any device with a MP3 stream by using your LyvCaster App & Player. First ‘unshare’ the podcasts you are currently sharing in your Studio Podcast Library & seen on your LyvCaster App; then go and add songs to your podcast library via the KMC podcast add screen, then click to share, and they will be listed on your LyvCaster App & Player. The ones shared would then be your playlist and they play auto after each other and as its a MP3 stream it will be great to listen on your LyvCaster App & Player.

HACK FIVE Next you can find out what you have in your libraries by going to the Delete screen – you can see 100 at a time – if you want a hardcopy drag your mouse from the start of ARTIST on the top left down to the last SELECT on the bottom right, and then COPY (CNTL C) and then PASTE into a spreadsheet.

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 119 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 HACK SIX Currently the Header Programming will only change the header for a 24 hour period based on the station’s timezone. To have the same header displayed over multiple days, upload the header (1000X300 png format) to how many slots for how manay days you want and then make the days in sequential order. The example displays the same header for three (3) days in a row, so this will display the header on March 3, 4 and 5, and the same header will be displayed for this period. This will also work for the LyvApp Headers, Posters & Donation Posters.

HACK SEVEN If you want what you have in your Music or Podcast libraries added to a spreadsheet then go to the music/podcast media delete screen and click the PRINT button & select MICROSOFT PRINT TO PDF and after its created, open the PDF and drag your mouse across the data and paste into the spreadsheet.

HACK EIGHT Put the two 165X50 donation posters next to each other and you can change/update them seperately and with Donation Programming these Donation Posters can be changed on a daily basis for your Donation Campaign. This can work if they are end-to-end or above-below each other.

HACK NINE Go live using the LyvShow PC app - you don’t have to open the KryKey Studio, just open LyvShow, click Stream-On and then you need to Disconnect/Connect the LyvStream and your content will be streaming out from the program you are using. No need to open the studio. [ NO LONGER A HACK NOW WE HAVE REMOVED THE STUDIO STEP ]

HACK NINE The tabs on the Show Management & the Host Management screens in the media console can be changed from the default show01, show02, etc., or host01, host02, et., to the show’s show-sign / host’s name by going to the Support screen and in the settings turn the show-tabs or/and host-tabs on.

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 121 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 GOING LIVE USING LYVSHOW The first one we are going to go thru step-by-step is when you want to go live and use the LyvShow PC App. Follow these simple steps and you will be talking live to your listeners in no time.

What you will need:  Laptop or PC running Windows OS with 16Gb RAM (8Gb minimum)  Headphones – plugged in  Microphone – plugged in  Browser with Flash installed – we recommend FIREFOX as it uses less memory

STEPS TO LYVSTREAMING USING LYVSHOW 1. You first must install the LyvShow PC App which only works for Windows PCs - go to page 68 in this manual and follow the steps to install LyvShow - LyvShow must be installed correctly or it will NOT work

2. Open the following: - Firefox & go to https://krykey/com/KMC and login into your Media Console & go to Studio screen (don’t log in to Studio)

- open LyvShow and login

- open the program/app you are going to use to pay music, in this example we will use RadioDJ

- also open Windows Media Player and you can play music direct from it, the volume on WMP is the stream volume for it

3. Go to LyvShow: - click STREAM-ON - minimize LyvShow (do not close)

You are now ready to use ANY program that makes a noise and stream that out live!

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 122 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 4. Open RadioDJ - set the microphone in RadioDJ : open OPTIONS, then OPTIONS, then SOUNDCARDS and select the microphone you want to use

- click play and start your music - or click INPUT and you speak and out on the air! - you will need to also click this INPUT button when you use Skype etc or the listeners will not hear you - first play music while you finish setting up

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 123 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 4. Media Console Studio screen on Firefox browser: - the LyvStream/LyvRadio stream requires you shut it down and restart it to get the new LyvStream using LyvShow - do not log into the Studio - click LYVSTREAM in the OFF position & then count to 5 and click again to the ON position

- sometimes there is an error, just use the back arrow on the browser and you will be back at the screen with changes

and back on

- minimize this browser

5. Use RadioDJ, Windows Media Player or whatever you want to play your content out to your listeners on all, as you play the sound will be streamed out

you should always check by tuning into your LyvRadio app if you can hear the radio – if not repeat steps above

THE VOLUME ON THE PROGRAM IS THE STREAM VOLUME NOT THE PC VOLUME SO YOU CAN TURN DOWN AND NOT EFFECT STREAM VOLUME

6. Microphone: - the microphone in RadioDJ is the easiest to use - see above how to set up in RadioDJ - you can use the microphone with any program like Windows Media Player, but you must do some extra steps and see how to do this here: https://www.krykey.com/SUPPORT/help-skype.htm#SETTING_YOUR_MICROPHONE_

You now can use Skype, desktop Viber, desktop WhatsApp, whatever audio chat app you have and get callers to call in (NOTE: there is a 20-40 sec delay so callers like with real radio must not be listening when they call in) and You can use any program to play content: Studio & DJ programs like RadioDJ, Sam Broadcaster, VirtualDJ (see more here: https://krykey.com/tools.htm); any media player; any browser; anything that makes a sound.

You can also RECORD all this by using the RECORD-ON button on LyvShow – see page here

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 124 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 7. Finishing Your LyvShow - When your finished all you need to do is open the Studio in the browser and start playing the playlist in there - In LyvShow click STREAM-OFF & if you are recording RECORD-OFF (save MP3 to your PC for editing) - in the Media Console Studio screen click LYVSTREAM OFF & ON so it connects to the correct stream from the Studio & then logout of the Media Console - close LyvShow App - close RadioDJ, etc. - logout of Studio & close Studio

Your radio station will be playing the Studio’s playlist automatically to all the features & devices you have chosen 24/7.

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 125 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 CO-HOSTING USING SKYPE USING LYVSHOW Of course what is better than hosting your own shows? Well it is having a co-Host to help you balance the show and help you in the show. You co-Host does not have to be in the same room as you, as now with Skype you can call your co-Host and then ‘share’ the desktop so they can see AND hear in real-time what is happening. Your co-Host can mute their Mic in Skype during those times that require it and you control the content and what is being played. It is even possible to have more than one co-Host connected and part of your show.

To do this you will need:  a PC with Windows on it (we recommend Windows 10 with 16GB RAM)  LyvShow installed with you logged in and open  Open LyvShow with STREAM-ON  Play music and content using your own studio or media player (in this example we will use PLAYIT LIVE)  ONLY IF YOU HAVE LyvRadio, in your KMC Studio screen click LyvStream OFF to DISCONNECT (if error just click back)

 You should see LyvStream is DISCONNECTED, click to CONNECT (if error just click back)  LyvStream should be CONNECTED  You check on another device if you are streaming live go to your web site or LyvApp  Open Skype and login  Call your co-Host  After your co-Host answers, then click the ‘share- screen’ icon  Then turn-on share-computer-sound and click share- screen-and-sounds  Your desktop is now shared with your co-Host

After you share your whole desktop is shared and all sounds, so it is always good to MUTE Skype when you’re not talking to your co-Host or listeners that have called in. Below is a screen shot from a co-Host PC and they can see (in real-time) what is happening in the Studio and hear it, plus they can text chat and talk on the air to

COPYRIGHT © 2010-2020 KRYKEY - ALL INFORMATION IN THIS DOCUMENT IS FOR KRYKEY RADIO STATIONS ONLY - Page 126 of 145 THE BOOK OF KRYKEY © 2010-2020 the Host and listeners when required. We always recommend muting the Mic in Skype (see blue mic icon) when not talking.

You can also RECORD while you are sharing your desktop and save / download for later use on your LyvVideo app. This record feature is on the same menu as sharing the screen. This records what is shared on the desktop including the sounds from the Studio and the talking.

This is a powerful and very flexible way of having someone co- Host with you no matter where they are on the Planet, with the ability to also talk and discuss topics with your listeners who can call in using any communication app you are running on the pc.

MICROPHONE Make sure you turn on LISTEN TO THIS DEVICE in your Windows Control Panel Sounds Microphone Settings so LyvShow can hear it and stream it out

The equipment listed is compatible with the KryKey Radio Platform Service. The following is what KryKey uses in the office to run and test radio stations across the network.

AUDIO MIXER Behringer Premium 8 Input 2 Bus Mixer with XENYX Mic Preamps/Compressors/EQs and USB/Audio Interface Price: $50-60USD The 8-input, 2-bus Behringer Xenyx Q802USB USB Audio Mixer has two phantom-powered Xenyx microphone preamps, making it possible to use up to two dynamic and/or studio- grade condenser microphones. On-board 3-band British EQ makes it easy to fine-tune any input signal and is available on both the microphone and stereo channels. Another feature exclusive to the Q802USB Mixer is an FX Send control per channel, allowing you to use an external effects processor to add the finishing touch to your performance or recording. RCA CD/Tape I/O comes standard on all Xenyx mixers. One-Knob Compression Ask professional sound engineers what their favourite piece of external processing gear is and the majority response will be virtually unanimous – dynamic compression. What is compression? We’re glad you asked. Compression essentially limits the dynamic range of a signal, lowering the level of loud sounds and turning up softer sounds, to achieve sonic balance. But applying compression is a delicate art that many novice, and even intermediate, sound techs find challenging. Our “one-knob” compression is available on all mono channels and is easy to operate, even for entry-level users. With this one knob, you can easily dial in the perfect amount of compression for instruments and vocals, creating powerful mixes with punch and clarity. This is indeed a rare feature for products in this class – but standard on the XENYX Q802USB mixer.

 The person who is hosting the radio station and running LyvShow we will call the STREAMING-HOST and STUDIO-1  The person who is at a different location we will call REMOTE-HOST and STUDIO-2

The STREAMING-HOST must have a really good internet connection – at least 1mb up / 1mb down speeds so as to take in the REMOTE-HOST’s stream – to take call as well as looking at social media make sure this connection is even better than 1mb/1mb. We also recommend the STREAMING-HOST computer should have as much RAM as possible (in this example the computer had 16mb).

 STREAMING-HOST - open LyvShow - open Skype - open the program to be used to play music  REMOTE-HOST - open Skype - open the program to be used to play music

 The REMOTE-HOST “audio calls” the STREAMING-HOST via Skype  The REMOTE-HOST in Skype “shares” the screen & also selects “share sound” - now whatever is done on the REMOTE-HOST computer can be seen & heard in real-time by the STREAMING-HOST

 The STREAMING-HOST clicks STREAM-ON in LyvShow - now the sound from the REMOTE-HOST is streaming out to the radio station - also any sound on the STREAMING-HOST is also streamed out to the radio station

Now both the STREAMING-HOST and the REMOTE-host can talk to each other LIVE, plus take turns in playing music & other content and also take calls (on Skype – get a phone number) from your listeners.

The web sites we offer follow a similar design which will eventually be one of the features inside the Media Console (future Site Layout screen) and has the HEADER (1000X300 pixels PNG format) at the top, with usually three columns below it made up of the KryKey Players, the Posters and feeds from Twitter, Tumblr & Facebook.

EXAMPLE WEB SITE 1. Header 2. Flash Player 3. Listen & Social Media icons 4. Posters 5. LyvRadio Player 6. Tumble Feed 7. Facebook Feed

The Header can be updated (and also scheduled or programmed to be changed on any day of the year for 24 hours and then back to your default Header to allow you to celebrate certain days) in the Media Console Header screen.

The Posters can be updated with their web links in the radio station’s Media Console Poster screen.

 Adding more data to the Media Posters screen does not add more Posters to the web site.  The widget code for that Poster has to be added to the web site for it to be displayed & live.  Example: on the Poster screen if you see a Poster that hasn’t been uploaded and add the address and then the graphic it will not then appear on the web site we do – it doesn’t work like that – the Posters on the site has had the code generated by the media console widget screen added to it and then made public. If more Posters were to be added to the web site, the same process would be the same, add the Poster content, generate the code and add to the web page.

See this video on YouTube here on how to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3iLvV70HVc

All components can be added to any web site, so it is recommended that radio stations that want a fully web site seek their own and then add the Players, Posters, Header, Logos, etc., to the site they can update as they require.
