By GLEN WERLING Engineering Resources has been hired to perform preliminary civil engineering and landscape archi- tectural design services for the city’s Lancaster Park project. Bluffton Board of Public Works and Safety members John Whicker, Roger Thornton and Scott Mentzer agreed on a 3-0 vote to retain the Fort Wayne firm, even though it’s quote for the services — $6,000 — was slightly higher than the quote of $5,500 submitted by A&Z Engineering, also of Fort Wayne. Monday I got my second Moderna shot — two weeks after my first dose. I didn’t have symptoms beyond a sore arm after my first appoint- ment until about 24 hours later, when I grew quite tired. Later that night, Jessica after a long shift in the office, I came down with some cold sweats. I felt Bricker crummy for a few hours. I’m told I got a glimpse into what it’s like to have COVID-19. Thankfully those symptoms subsided when I woke up the next morning, although I was tired again from tossing and turning all night. It’s now Tuesday evening after my second dose and I have more soreness and a tender red welt that looks like a demon mosquito feasted on my upper arm. By about lunch time, the same symptoms creeped up on me as before and then hit me square in the face (or so it felt). The onset was much earlier than the last dose. I hope by the time most of you are reading this, those symptoms are gone. But seeing faces I knew helped ease the stress of the occasion that brought me to the 4-H Park on two recent Monday afternoons.
