New security measures Concerning liquids, gels, pastes and aerosols in cabin baggage: • The contents (bottle, jar, tube) should not exceed 100 ml and should be carried in a transparent resealable freezer-type plastic bag of a capacity not exceeding 1 litre and of a 20cm x 20 cm size. • Food for babies or toddlers as well as medication to be used during the stay are authorised. Passengers may be required to prove the authenticity of products by tasting them or showing a medical prescription or certificate.

Concerning the purchase of liquids, gels, pastes and aerosols in Aéroports de Paris duty free shops: • All products in liquid, paste, gel, cream and aerosol form purchased in these shops are authorised in the cabin. • These products will be placed in a sealed bag and handed to the passenger by sales personnel before boarding if purchased in the shops located between passport control and airport security checkpoints. • Purchases must also be placed in sealed bags by sales personnel in the case of a connection through a European Union, Swiss, Icelandic or Norwegian airport. To be allowed through the connecting airport’s security checkpoint, these bags must not be opened and should come with a receipt certifying purchase that same day.

Other measures imposed by the European Commission: • Passengers should remove their coats and jackets before going through security screening. • Laptops and other “large electrical items” may be carried on but should be removed from cabin baggage and screened separately.

Access to AFNOR

* RER - The station La Plaine-Stade de France, served by the RER B, is 3 min on foot away from the AFNOR building. The RER B allows to reach Châtelet in 10 minutes where one finds the correspondences with the RER A and the underground. Roughly 30 minutes are required to reach Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport. To reach Orly Airport, it takes 40 minutes (RER B as far as Antony, then Orlyval right to the Airport). The station Stade de France-Saint-Denis, served by RER D, is 10 minutes on foot from the AFNOR building. A bus, line 139, bus-stop Cornillon (avenue Francis de Pressensé) enables to reach AFNOR (bus every 8 minutes).

* METRO - The station Saint-Denis – Porte de Paris is served by line 13 (Châtillon Montrouge/Saint-Denis Université). A bus, line 153, bus-stop Cornillon enables to reach the AFNOR building within 15 minutes.

AFNOR – Practical information

General information

Meetings are registered on the Afnor electronic board in the Atrium After registration, please keep your badge all week long in order to gain access to the meeting centre and restaurant. If you loose your badge, please ask for a visitor one. Please note that Afnor is a non-smoking area. Taxis can be ordered from the reception desk

Meeting rooms

Meeting rooms are located on the ground, first, second and sixth floors. They are available from 8:30 to 18:30 The access codes will be available at the secretariat. This code must not be written on whiteboards or paperboards. A video projector is available in each meeting room. In case of late arrival, do not hesitate to knock at the meeting room doors It is not recommended to leave valuables in the meeting rooms A telephone is available in meeting room for internal needs only (direct call to …….)

Coffee breaks and Lunch breaks

Fresh water is always available in the meeting rooms.

At lunchtime, the Afnor restaurant is open from 11:30 to 14:00. It's a self service restaurant. The “expert lunch” costs 10 euros (payment by credit card or Euros). It includes a starter, main course, cheese or dessert, plus beverage and a voucher for coffee or tea. Coffee and tea are provided at the cafeteria next to the restaurant on the ground floor. The cafeteria is open from 7:45 to 9:30 and from 11:45 to 14:30. It is also possible to order sandwiches in the cafeteria in the morning for lunchtime.

Banks

There is a multitude of banks in Paris, both French and foreign. They are generally open from 9am to 5pm, or 6pm, from Monday to Friday, sometimes from Tuesday to Saturday. Certain branches may close at lunchtime, between 12.30pm and 2pm. Even though you may find some banks who will accept your currency in exchange for euros, you are more likely to come across exchange bureaux, which specialise in this type of transaction. Make sure you have some ID with you. €1 is divided into 100 centimes or cents. Notes: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200 and €500. Coins: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents; €1 and €2.

Shopping hours

Generally, shops stay open late in Paris. Most major shopping centres are open from 9.30 a.m to 20.00 p.m from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays, the majority of shops are closed except in certain areas such as Bercy Village in the 12th district and also right in the centre of Paris and, directly accessible via the museum, the Carrousel du Louvre has some 60 shops and restaurants.
