  • The Lta Wild Card Policy
THE LTA WILD CARD POLICY 1. INTRODUCTION A ‘wild card’ is a player included in the draw of a tennis event at the discretion of the tournament’s organising committee or organisation. Both main draw and qualifying wild cards may be made available at events. Because the LTA runs and organises some tournaments (LTA Staged Tournaments), the LTA is able to allocate wild cards in the draws of the events within those tournaments. This policy is a general policy that explains how the LTA chooses the players which receive those wild cards and how the LTA nominates individuals to receive wild cards for The Junior Championships, Wimbledon from the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club Limited (the AELTC). The number of wild cards that are available to the LTA at ITF World Tennis Tour (Men’s & Women’s), ATP and WTA tour level events held in Great Britain is outlined in appendix 1. Specific Tournaments and Events If you would like to learn about a particular tournament or event, you should read the relevant tournament information. For LTA tournaments, you can find tournament-specific information packs in the competition resources area of the LTA website. 2. WHAT THIS POLICY EXPLAINS This policy (the Policy) explains how the LTA will allocate wild cards for LTA Staged Tournaments and how the LTA chooses the individuals who they will nominate to the AELTC to receive wildcards for The Junior Championships, Wimbledon. Where references are made to allocating wildcards in this Policy, in relation to The Junior Championships, Wimbledon, such references shall mean nominating individuals for wildcards.

Ključne riječi: Rolan Garos, ”4 Musketara”, muški osvajači , Rafael Nadal iv ABSTRACT In modern sport, results are quickly forgotten, so the period from 10 to 20 years is quite long period of time, but some competitions like Roland Gaross lasts for century ot two.

  • Inside the STMS-August 2011
Inside the August 2011 Hello Everyone!! Neeru Jayanthi, MD Editor-in-Chief A bstract Discussion PRESENTED AT THE 2011 ANNUAL STMS CONGRESS ANALYZING THE DIETARY INTAKE OF COMPETITIVE JUNIOR TENNIS PLAYERS: DOES NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING MAKE A DIFFERENCE? Authors: Brian Young Kim MS, Columbia University Institute of Human Nutrition (new affiliation: University of California, Irvine School of Medicine), Karen Reznik-Dolins EdD RD CSSD, Columbia University Teacher’s College OBJECTIVE: To assess the dietary intake of competitive junior tennis athletes and to explore the effects of nutritional counseling on dietary intake. SUBJECTS: Twelve competitive tennis players age 10-17 y. DESIGN: Subjects were divided into two groups based on whether they had (Altheus) or had not (USTA) previously received nutritional counseling. Nutrient intakes were determined from 3-day diet rec- ords. Macronutrient and micronutrient intake was quantified using The Food Processor SQL (ESHA Re- search, Eugene, Oregon). STATISTICS: Data were analyzed by the Mann Whitney U test and standard deviations. RESULTS: There were no significant differences in age, height, weight, BMI, and BMI percentile for age between the two groups. The athletes as a whole fell short of recommendations for energy (-567 ± 1084 kcal), fluid (-553 ± 988 g), and calcium (-429 ± 584 mg) intake and exceeded recommendations for car- bohydrate (+1.58 ± 4.88 g/kg BW), protein (+0.5 ± 1.2 g/kg BW), and iron (+9.2 ± 10.7 mg) intake. The mean intake of the USTA group was below recommendations for energy (-1123 ± 428 kcal), carbohy- drate (-1.17 ± 1.54 g/kg BW), fluid (-754 ± 1006 g), and calcium intake (-776 ± 189 mg), while meeting recommendations for protein (+0.18 ± 0.28 g/kg BW) and iron intake (+1.7 ± 6.1 mg).

On Saturday against Andrey Rublev, he can start anew with a championship to begin 2018. The Frenchman arrived as a wild card following a four-month hiatus due to a right knee injury. Monfils has found success in familiar territory, falling to then-No. 1 Roger Federer (2006), then-No. 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (2012) and then-No. 1 Rafael Nadal (2014) in his previous Doha finals. Monfils is one of three wild cards to reach the final in Doha’s 26-year tournament history, joining Younes El Aynaoui in 1996 and Nicolas Escude in 2004. Escude, also from France, is the only wild card to win the Doha title. Monfils’ first final in Doha came as a 19-year-old, but his 20-year-old opponent on Saturday is bidding to become the youngest Qatar ExxonMobil Open champion ever. Rublev is through to the final despite hitting a total of 33 double faults in his four victories this week. INFOSYS ATP SCORES & STATS Qatar ExxonMobil Open [WC] Gael

After all, I was the guy who let his racket do the talking. I was the guy who kept his eyes on the prize, leading a very dedicated, disciplined, almost monkish existence in my quest to accumulate Grand Slam titles. And I was the guy who guarded his private life and successfully avoided controversy and drama, both in my career and personal life. But as I settled into life as a former player, I had a lot of time to reflect on where I’d been and what I’d done, and the way the story of my career might impact people. For starters, I realized that what I did in tennis probably would be a point of interest and curiosity to my family.
