THANK YOU: Thank you to some special mums who made last Thursday a lovely day for our little ones. Two Easter bunnies visited our school and treated us to eggs and hot cross buns! Thank you Susan Rabinowitz, Justine Read and Gabi Hermann for spoiling us all!

CULTURAL EVENING THIS EVENING WEDNESDAY 24 APRIL FROM 17H15 – 18H15: Please join us this evening Wednesday, 24 April from 17h15 – 18h15 for our Cultural Evening in our central playground. All children and all Grades will be participating in this presentation. Children are to be in their holding classes by 17:00 on the evening.

HOLDING CLASSES: Grade R: Ms Nicollete's class Grade 1: Mrs Lyons'class Grade 2: Hall School uniform to be worn, except for Grade R's and if any Grade 1 or Grade 2 child is doing a performance that requires an outfit, then they can wear their fleecy over that outfit. Parents can bring along picnic baskets and blankets. No alcohol is permitted on premises when children are present. Vida coffee will be on sale on the evening. We are all looking forward to an enjoyable hour of entertainment.

FOUNDERS’ DAY ASSEMBLIES: On Friday, 26 April 2019, the Camps Bay Schools will be celebrating our 113th Birthday! We invite you to the following assemblies:  Camps Bay Preparatory campus: 08h00 with past Prep pupil Hannah Barnes (Head Prefect CBHS)  Camps Bay Primary campus: 09h00  The High School has changed their assembly time and have linked it with a Past Pupil Day, the times are as follows: Assembly: 11h00 followed by tea. Hope you can join us to celebrate this special day.

MESSAGE FROM POPS/PA: We are looking for someone to run a portfolio and be part of the Games Event Committee for the upcoming Games Event that will be held on 25 May this year. The portfolio is food - this is what is needed: 1. Decide on the what food is going to be sold 2. Work out costings 3. Create a team of helpers for the day pooled from the school. The class reps will help you with this 4. Set up and pack up on the day We have some established contacts that could be used. YUMZI: These winter warmer cacao drinks will be on sale to our children every Friday from 3 May to 7 June. Place your orders for your child's Yumzi and /or mini Yumzi cup. Or bring your own clearly marked cup. Pay R60 on the Karri app for 6 weeks of Yumzi's. Flyers with reply slips were sent home yesterday.

TIME FOR A LAUGH: Calling all Camps Bay Prep and Primary parents to an exclusive fundraising evening with Marc Lottering on Wednesday 12 June at The Theatre on the Bay. Celebrate the end of term with your fellow parents and enjoy the brand new stand-up show Not A Musical. The fabulously revamped theatre restaurant and bar will be open well before the show. Friends and family welcome, but no under 16s please. Tickets are R250 each, available from the bursar's office now! Seats are limited. Fantastic spot prizes up for grabs too!

CIRCLE SPORTS: OUR ANNUAL SPORTS DAY We are having this fun day on Friday, 3 May at the Gr R Campus from 11h00 – 12h45. Children are to come dressed in their sports clothes and will have a routine school day until 11h00. All parents and grandparents are cordially invited to join us and to help their child’s team score more points!! Thank you to Coach Butch and all staff for facilitating this fun day!

BREADBAG TAGS & BOTTLE-TOPS: Remember 50kg of bread tags =1 wheelchair for a disabled child. Thank you Grade R Lyons, Lyla Duddy, Matilde Mastropietro, Tiana Ngwira, Emma Pockpas, Cataleya Rosenberg, Christopher Rourke, Nina Sardo, Declan Tucker and Allegra Wilson for sending bottle tops and bread bag tags to the office this week.

THE CAMPS BAY HIGH SCHOOL DANCE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS, “WHAT LIES BENEATH: The Camps Bay High School Dance Department presents, “What Lies Beneath” at 19:00 on 2-3 May 2019 in the John Ince Hall at Camps Bay High School. The production features over 140 of Camps Bay High School talented dancers, as well as some senior dancers from Camps Bay Primary School and is produced and directed by Teva Scarborough. CAMPS BAY EASTER EGG DRIVE: Camps Bay Schools, which includes Camps Bay High School (Grades 8-12), Camps Bay Primary School (Grades 3-7) and the Preparatory Campus of Camps Bay Primary School (Reception Grade - Grade 2) joined forces on one massive Easter Egg Drive, collecting Easter Eggs for members of the Community in need. At Camps Bay High School, the drive was led by Interact who managed to collect over 2 800 Easter Eggs. The Preparatory Campus of Camps Bay Primary School collected close to 1 900 but the Camps Bay School that collected the most Easter Eggs was Camps Bay Primary School with a massive total of over 5 500 Easter Eggs! In total, Camps Bay Schools collected approximately 10 200 Easter Eggs. A team of Camps Bay Schools pupils from the Prep, Primary and High School Campuses, spent Thursday morning distributing amongst schools and organisations in their Community.

The team of pupils distributed to Holy Cross Primary School, Girls Primary School, Zonnebloem Boys Primary School, Prestwich Street Primary School, St. Paul’s Primary School, Ellerton Primary School, the Fire Station and Camps Bay Police Station. In addition, Easter Eggs were distributed to iKahya Le Themba in in , Mosadie Gives Back (a soup kitchen based in Mitchell’s Plain) SARDA (South African Riding for the Disabled), The Red Cross Children’s Hospital, various Old Age Homes and church organisations for distribution at their feeding schemes. “Camps Bay Schools are community schools where we develop well rounded, confident and responsible individuals. Service to the community is very important to us and our pupils are actively involved in giving back. We hope that this small venture has made Easter a little bit special for those less fortunate.” Camps Bay High School Principal, Dave De Korte.

KIDZ DISCOVERY: Kidz Discovery’s fully registered Bridging BrightStart Preschool for 2,5 to 5,5 year olds; the only preschool with a registered program for under 6s in .
