MISTER FISHER LANDS RE-ROUTED PETERBOROUGH Last month at Cheltenham Mister Fisher was pulled up in the Gr.3 Paddy Power Gold Cup, but on his return to Prestbury Park yesterday, he bounced back to form to triumph in the Gr.2 Peterborough Chase, re-routed from Huntingdon last Sunday. Still only a six-year-old, the son of Jeremy was successful at Gr.2 level over fences in January when winning the Lightning Novices’ Chase at Doncaster, and at this meeting 12 months ago, he was successful in the extended 2m4f novices’ chase, having previously been a Gr.2 winner over hurdles. LEADING FIRST-CROP SIRE GEMIX BRINGS THE CLASS OF A CHAMPION TO YOUR MARES A Champion hurdler with two Gr.1 victories in the Grande Course de Haies d’Auteuil in 2013 and 2014, Gemix has made a sensational start at stud with LE BERRY (pictured below), the best four-year-old seen in France this year. This success was not a given, but the whole story of Gemix is a combination of talent and fate that gave him the chance to reveal himself. Let’s go back to the origin of this success story… which has only just begun!

STRENGTH TO STRENGTH AS A RACEHORSE Gemix has proved on the track that he has all the qualities of the greatest. He was a sound racehorse, racing from a two-year-old to a six-year-old without career interruption. He demonstrated speed, stamina and a sound mind. His racing career started in one of the first two-year-old races in April and he ran eight times as a juvenile, proving his constancy with two wins and five places. As a three-year-old he won a good race over 1600m at Longchamp, and his trainer and owners decided to utilise his class on the Flat over the jumps. His first race in this new discipline was as a four-year-old, but a horse fell right in front of him and although he managed to avoid him, he lost his jockey in the mishap. However, after that, the machine was launched. He won, then won again at Auteuil, before stepping up in class to win a Listed race at the same venue, and took three Graded places to round off his first National Hunt season. As a five- and six- year-old he ran 12 times, all at Graded level: winning five times, and taking three seconds, three thirds and a fourth place. Gemix’s greatest achievements were his two victories in the Gr.1 Grande Course de Haies d’Auteuil, breaking the record in 2013 and beating strong European fields each year by eight and then seven lengths. His final race tally was 12 victories, beating 19 individual Gr.1 winners, and over €1 million in prize money. He certainly marked his career with his will to win and his strong acceleration, even when finishing a 5100m race. A SUCCESSFUL CAREER AT STUD BECKONS After this incredible and unexpected career in the National Hunt sector, for a 1m63cm tall horse destined to be a two-year-old, his titles opened the doors to him for a new career at stud. His two owners, Michel Haski and Francis Teboul, who now operate under the Gemini Stud banner, decided to pursue this incredible adventure with Gemix and to support their champion in his new career at stud. He began at the historic Haras de Victot with Roland SHOWCASE SHOWCASE Continued...

With small books of 43 mares for each of his first two seasons,Gemix only had about 30 foals each year, but the owners and the stud joined forces to support their stallion with a strong communication and commercial strategy. Their efforts, LEADING FIRST-CROP SIRE combined with the excellent feedback from the breeders who had their first foals, allowed him to increase his harem in the following years – a very rare evolution for stallions during the third or fourth season. New breeders were attracted by the very correct foals, who were good-bodied and full of energy, a characteristic inherited from GEMIX BRINGS THE CLASS OF A his grandfather Linamix, who has established himself as a major enhancer in French pedigrees, both on the Flat and in the National Hunt field.Linamix has six sons who have sired National Hunt Gr.1 winners.
