Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn

Located in the heart of Hinterglemm, the old Zwölferkogel lift has now been replaced by a modern, two-section 10-passenger gondola lift as of summer 2019. The new 12er KOGEL Bahn cable car runs in two sections along the World Cup downhill run from the valley station at 1,066 m to the top of the Zwölferkogel mountain at 1,984 m. Across a total length of 2,648 metres, guests ascend approx. 918 metres elevation. Transport capacity is an astounding 3,500 passengers per hour! Winter sports enthusiasts can therefore reach the starting point of the World Cup downhill racecourse faster and more comfortably than ever. The length and steepness of the slope is sure to set the pulses of winter sports enthusiasts racing. At its steepest point on the eastern slope, it has a

gradient of 72%, making it one of the steepest ski slopes in the Alpine region. The commissioning of the new 12er KOGEL Bahn cable car is planned for the end of November.

Two years ago, the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn initiated an extensive & innovative design process featuring a smart slope guidance system designed to allow guests to flow through the ski area with better information and increased safety & ease. With a new orientation system now in place, the resort will set new standards for Alpine guidance and information systems. This detailed-oriented approach has reduced content down to its most essential elements: ten alphanumeric zones, a three-colour system for slope difficulty levels, another for safety and dangers, a detailed panoramic map that is easy to navigate, information areas at the lift boarding areas and LED screens displaying the status of cable cars and lifts as well as pistes. The result: much-improved orientation and navigation within the ski resort!

Schmittenhöhe in Zell am See

The start of the 2019/20 season will mark the fruition of a long-cherish dream for the Schmittenhöhebahn in Zell am See! With the completion of Section I of the zellamseeXpress, the connection between the Schmitten and areas will now become a reality. In December 2019, a new era for one of the largest and most varied ski areas in Austria will commence! Four years ago, the Schmittenhöhebahn AG cable car company received planning permission for a feeder line from to the Schmittenhöhe. The first, upper and longer section of the zellamseeXpress as well as the corresponding Tannwald ski run already became operational in December 2016. The opening of the valley station and the lower section leading up to the Winkelstation at 1,115 metres elevation is planned for December 2019. Transport capacity will be 2,800 passengers per hour and the panoramic journey encompassing both sections from Viehhofen to the Salersbachköpfl will take less than 12 minutes. Winter sports fans can choose between five long ski runs with more than 1000 metres of altitude difference. When travelling with one of the zellamseeXpress’ 13 special Jukeboxx gondolas, select your favourite song for the journey back up the mountain. To enjoy Jukeboxx music, simply connect to Wi-Fi with a smartphone. Winter-sports enthusiasts will then be linked to the Jukeboxx app automatically. Press the play button for musical accompaniment as you float back up to the mountain station! Those keen for even more excitement and variety won’t want to miss the Schmitten Action Cup! During this exciting challenge, collect badges throughout the Schmitten ski resort: at photo points, the ski-movie run and the altitude-difference challenge. Each month, sensational prizes will be raffled off amongst all participants. The completion of the zellamseeXpress closes a gap and simultaneously enables the Schmittenhöhebahn AG cable car company to reach all new heights! Guests benefit enormously from the connection to the Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn. During the “Winterstart am Berg” event, the Schmitten will kick off winter in style on 7 December 2019 at the areitXpress mountain station with concerts by Austrian pop music legend Rainhard Fendrich and Danish singer-songwriter Aura Dione.

Kitzsteinhorn Kaprun

The completion of the new K-ONNECTION cable car connection in Kaprun is regarded as a defining moment. The historic project connects the Kaprun town centre with the Maiskogel family ski resort and the guaranteed snowy conditions of the Kitzsteinhorn glacier ski resort. The heart of the new connection, the 4.3-kilometer 3K K- onnection, is Salzburg's first tri-cable ropeway boasting 32 state-of-the-art cabins. The stylish new designer ATRIA panorama cabins offer a unique travel experience: Thanks to all-round glazing, the cabins offer

breathtaking panoramic views of the Salzachtal valley, Lake Zeller See and some of Austria's highest peaks. Like a string of pearls, the cable car sections extend from the town centre to the TOP OF SALZBURG on the Kitzsteinhorn mountain at 3,029 metres. With a total of twelve kilometres and 2,261 m elevation gain, the panoramic Kaprun – Maiskogel – Kitzsteinhorn journey is the longest continuous cable car route in the Eastern Alps. Thanks to the new K-ONNECTION, guests can now travel from Kaprun directly to the glacier in comfort: ski- in-ski-out & car free! For the first time, there are now two places to board for the journey up the Kitzsteinhorn: the MK Maiskogelbahn cable car in Kaprun and the Gletscherjet at valley station. The latter is preferable for day- trippers and those who want to get to the glacier ski area quickly and directly.

The Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour into the eternal ice of the glacier is all-new as of December 2019/20. Featuring two specially equipped ‘Explorer Cabins,’ national-park rangers accompany participants once a week on a two- hour tour through four climate zones. Along the way, they’ll highlight the fascinating mountain environment of the adjacent Hohe Tauern National Park. The opening ceremony for this unique attraction, the dream of generations, will take place on 30 November 2019. The event will boast sensational lighting effects and live concerts by Wolfgang Ambros and his band "Die No. 1 vom Wienerwald" as well as the Austrian dialect band GRANADA. With his hit song "Skifoahn," Ambros is more than just a musical ambassador for all ski fans. His ballad "Langsam wachs ma z'amm" is also the title melody for Kaprun’s inter-generational project.
