5. CRITERIA FOR ASSESSMENT

Criteria for assessment for Confirmatory Oscillograph Car Run as given on the 3rd report of standing criteria committee are reproduced below :

5.1 The average number of peaks of the vertical and lateral accelerations exceeding 0.30g should be limited to 0.25 peaks per recorded kilometer. However, the number of peaks in any one kilometer should not exceed one, and where this limit is exceeded, the track requires attention.

5.2 The locations where the peaks of vertical / lateral accelerations exceed 0.35g, the track will have to be attended to.

6. DISCUSSION OF TEST RESULTS

From the study & analysis of the enclosed Data-sheets ( 1 to 8 ) ,it can be understood that no where on the recorded kilometers of the up and down line of Howrah-New Delhi- Howrah section ( via grand chord), the value of vertical and lateral acceleration recorded by three types of test coaches exceeded the value of 0.30 g or 0.35g. Max. value of vertical & lateral Acceleration recorded on up and down line by the Test coaches are given below :

HOWRAH To NEW DELHI NEW DELHI To HOWRAH Details of Vehicle ( Up line) ( Down line)
