The report responds to the issues raised, and seeks the Executive’s approval of the final SRF. Recommendations The Executive is recommended: 1. to note the comments received on the Strategic Regeneration Framework and the response to these comments; 2. to approve the Manchester Piccadilly Strategic Regeneration Framework with the intention that it will become a material consideration in the Council’s decision making as the Local Planning Authority. Wards Affected: Piccadilly Manchester Strategy outcomes Summary of the contribution to the strategy A thriving and sustainable city: A high-speed line between Manchester, the West supporting a diverse and Midlands and London, and the North of England (as distinctive economy that creates proposed by Northern Powerhouse Rail (NPR)) will jobs and opportunities support business development in the region. The scheme has the potential to provide a catalyst which can attract further investment into Greater Manchester by creating a new gateway into the regional centre and boost investor confidence in the area.
