Yom Kippur46 Evening Rosh Hashanah44 Tashlikh Service/Kol Nidrei 50 47 Yom Kippur Ne’ilah/ Yom Kippur Selihot/ Concluding Service Prayers of Forgiveness his High Holy Day prayer book is designed especially for young children and their grownups. It is yours to use at services, at your T family table, in a prayerful moment at home, and whenever you feel inspired to visit the sounds of the synagogue, any day of the year. We believe in the importance of connecting with families through text, and know that even our youngest members will find pleasure and meaning in sharing a book containing the rich and diverse liturgy of our people.

Prayer is a multi-sensory experience. The colorful and playful pages of this book not only show the words of the prayers and what they mean, but also the structure of the service and its choreography. In addition, you will enjoy listening to the accompanying music available for download. The musical selections include contemporary compositions commissioned recently by the PAS Music Center, as well as familiar melodies closely identified with the . Singing will help children learn the prayers, find meaning in the text, and become comfortable with the full range of Jewish music.

We hope you enjoy praying with this mahzor as much as we enjoyed preparing it for you! We look forward to meaningful High Holy Days together for years to come.

You shall love Adonai your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all that is yours. These words that I command you this day shall be taken to heart. Teach them again and again to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your home, when you walk on your way, when you lie down and when you rise up. Bind them as a sign upon your hand and as a symbol before your eyes. Inscribe them on the doorposts of your home and on your gates.

We are sorry for the times when… We act out, we bully, we are careless, we don’t listen, we eat too much or too little, we fight, we give up, we hurt our friends, we ignore problems, we joke about important things, we aren’t kind, we tell lies, we make fun, we are nosy, we order people around, we pretend to be sorry, we quarrel, we react in anger, we don’t stop and think when we are upset, we tease, we use mean words, we are violent, we waste, we expect to be treated nicely even if we don’t treat others nicely, we yell instead of talk, we act lazy

We know we are doing better when… We are adventurous, we behave well, we show care for others, we do good deeds, we enjoy life, we figure out our problems, we help others, we imagine a better world, we are just, we are kind, we love each other, we make new friends, we are nice, we offer support, we are patient, we ask good questions, we remember to do better next time, we say sorry, we teach each other, we understand each other, we use calm voices, we wait before acting out, we explain what we want and need, we say yes to sharing, we get plenty of sleep, zzzzzz.
