Biography

DIKA OMEROVIĆ – PROSECUTOR OF THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

Dika Omerović was born in Rogatica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 1953. She graduated from University Faculty of Law in 1976.

She did her internship in the respective Municipal Courts of Rogatica and Višegrad and after passing the bar exam in Sarajevo in 1977 she was appointed judge of the Višegrad Basic Court that same year and held that position until 1986.

From 1986, she served as a secretary of the Višegrad Municipal Assembly and in May 1990 she was appointed judge of the Sarajevo Municipal Court II, where she worked until May 1992. Before devoting herself to law practice in 1996, she was employed in the legal department of a private company in Sarajevo.

From October 1996 she worked as a lawyer in Sarajevo until 2001 when she was appointed judge of the Sarajevo Municipal Court II.

She was appointed Cantonal Prosecutor in the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of the on 15 December 2003 and then, in March 2010, Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina by a decision of the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She was a member of the Association of Judges in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and she has been a member of the Association of Prosecutors of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2005. During her professional career as a judge and prosecutor, she attended many seminars both in the country and abroad for the purpose of receiving vocational training in the field of criminal justice.

Since November 2010, she has been an FBiH CEST trainer.
