We can and you shall try to take some measures to lower the risk of diseases. Something must be done in the country to free water from contaminations, foods must not be contaminated. As the physicians order, something must be done to prevent diseases from breaking rather than waiting for the incident and control it later. We should make barriers so no diseases would come and this is an important task that is worthy of attention. Orders of the Supreme Commander of Iranian Armed Forces about Health z Launch the movement of revival and expansion of the culture of health and preventive medicine by using all your opportunities and facilities. z We want to reach to a point that if there is a sick person in a family, that particular family suffer from nothing else than having a sick person z The least incident in the area of your mission (commander) is your job and you should be responsive. z As long as the attention to health is not ascending, the treatment problems remain the same. z There are critical, important and precise parts and you should put importance on immunization. Instructions of the Supreme Leader in Norouz 2014 In viewing 2014, in my opinion, there are two issues that are the most important, one is the issue of economy and the other is the culture. There are some expectations in both areas and fields. It is a joint effort among the authorities of the country and people. What we anticipate in building life and construction of future could not be realized without participation of people; therefore, in addition to the management that must be done by the authorities, the presence of people in both areas, economy and culture is required. Nothing can be done without peoples presence and the aim will not be achieved. People in various groups, people with national will and strength are able to play their roles. Authorities do need people’s support to perform their tasks properly, they too, should step in the field of activities, both in economy and culture by relying on Omnipotent God and begging Divine help and approval, and using peoples help. Hence, I believe what we have ahead of us in this new year is an economy which should be flourished by help of statesmen and people and a culture that by efforts of authorities ad people could determine the direction of the great movement of our country and our nation. Thus, I chose the motto and name of this year as: Economy and Culture with National Will and Jihad-type Management Commands of the Grand Commander of Iranian Armed Forces On Strategic Naval Force z As we move forward, the importance of the Naval Forces becomes clearer for the Islamic Republic of Iran (Morning Ceremony, Zone One, Bandar Abbas, Dec. 15, 1990). z Naval

This art form has existed since pre-historic times according to (Skira, 1950) and (Kissick, 1993). In Africa, cave paintings exist in many countries such as “Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Zimbabwe and South Africa”, (Wilcox, 1984). Traditional wall painting mostly by women can be found in many parts of Africa including Ghana, Southern Africa and Nigeria. These paintings are done mostly to enhance the appearance of the buildings and also serve other purposes as well. “Wall painting has been practiced in Northern Ghana for centuries after the collapse of the Songhai Empire,” (Ross and Cole, 1977).

To managereef tourism effectively a greaterunderstanding is neededof reef ecological processesand the impactsthat tourist activities haveon them. This study explores the impact of divers and snorkelerson the reefs of St. Lucia, West Indies, and how the reef environmentaffects tourists' perceptionsand experiencesof them. Observationsof divers and snorkelersrevealed that their impact on the reefs followed certainpatterns and could be predictedfrom individuals', site and dive characteristics.Camera use, night diving and shorediving were correlatedwith higher levels of diver damage.Briefings by dive leadersalone did not reducetourist contactswith the reef but interventiondid. Interviewswith tourists revealedthat many choseto visit St. Lucia becauseof its marineprotected area. • A Coral-Safe Diving Reminder Reduces Reef Contacts by Ashton
PROTECTING GUAM’S CORAL REEFS BY IMPROVING SCUBA DIVER BEHAVIOR: A CORAL-SAFE DIVING REMINDER REDUCES REEF CONTACTS BY ASHTON N. WILLIAMS A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of MASTER OF SCIENCE IN BIOLOGY SUPERVISORY COMMITTEE Dr. Laurie Raymundo, Chair Dr. Alexander Kerr, Member Dr. Romina King, Member UNIVERSITY OF GUAM DECEMBER 2019 Abstract Coral reefs are a critical resource for the culture and economy of the American territory of Guam, but the island’s coral reef resources are increasingly imperiled by climate change, particularly bleaching caused by rising seawater temperatures. Severe bleaching events in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2017 have caused mass mortality of corals and made evident the critical need to reduce local stressors to protect the future of Guam’s reefs. An estimated 300,000 people scuba dive on Guam’s reefs annually, but the impacts of these divers are unknown. This study examines the impacts of scuba diving activity on highly trafficked coral reefs and tests a low-effort approach to reducing diver impacts by using a coral-safe diving reminder. Comparisons of benthic cover, genus diversity, and health impacts did not reveal any significant differences between pairs of often dived and rarely dived sites, although it is likely that the damage and mortality caused by recent bleaching events may be masking the smaller impacts of scuba divers. A single-sentence coral-safe diving reminder delivered as part of the standard pre-dive briefing was highly effective in reducing both accidental and intentional contacts with reef. Divers who received a coral-safe diving reminder made 72% fewer contacts with the reef, and about 60% fewer contacts with live corals specifically, than divers who did not receive a reminder.

NADERI YEGANEH (Communicated by Peter Rosenthal) Dedicated to Professor Heydar Radjavi on his 80th birthday Abstract. This paper presents a proof of Stirling's formula using Haar wavelets and some properties of Hilbert space, such as Parseval's identity. The present paper shows a connection between Haar wavelets and certain sequences. Keywords: Haar wavelets, Parseval's identity, Stirling's formula. MSC(2010): Primary: 15-xx; Secondary: 40-xx. 1. Introduction n! Stirling's formula (lim !1 p = 1) plays an important role in statis- n nne−n 2πn tics and probability; its main use is estimating the value of n!. The first proofs of Stirling's formula were presented by de Moivre and Stirling (see [4, 8]). Es- timates of n! have been obtained via upper and lower bounds of n! by various authors (for example see [3], [5] and [6]). Some papers prove Stirling's formula by different techniques as well (for example see [2]). The present paper in- troduces a new method of proving Stirling's formula by using Haar wavelets.

LOCKDOWN Maths Inspired Art No Longer an Etching but a Multi Medium Artwork A3 size Gr11 /// PMM /// Term 2 /// 2020 Term 2’s theme has been inspired by the http://www.mathart.co.za/ competition initiated by the education department. We want to explore the link between making art and understanding maths principles. Each learner is to find a connection between a visual composition and being able to explain this using a mathematical explanation. Patterns, tessellations, fractals, proportion and perspective are all themes one could explore in this term 2 project. I suggest learners keep their final compositions simple and clean. Simple black line work as we are producing hard ground etchings in class. Due to the lockdown situation I would like each learner to produce their final practical at home. We will stick to the same theme as you have all done much work in your SB. What I would like is a final artwork, No smaller than A3 in whatever and whichever materials you have in your space at home. Please don't forget that stationary shops including art shops are open. I understand money is tight however pens, pencils, food colouring, coffee we should be able to work with easier. You will take your final composition and produce a final artwork with your ideas and creativity around “Maths in Art”. Suggestions for paper - cardboard boxes, old cereal boxes, collaging paper together. Please explore the format of the canvas - square, rectangular, oval are all options. [Each learn has already been given a brass etching plate and therefore has the size (39com x18cm) of the final composition.

Scott Draves, aka Spot, a computer scientist and artist, has created a space of images called fractal flames, based on attractors of two-dimensional iterated function systems. A large community of users run software that automatically downloads animated fractal flames, known as “sheep”, and displays them as their screen-saver. The users may vote electronically for the sheep they like while the screen-saver is running. In this report we proceed from Sprott to Spot. The data show an inverted U-shaped curve in the relationship between aesthetic judgments of flames and their fractal dimension, confirming and clarifying earlier reports.
