Job-related skills Ability to adapt and work on different Operating Systems I feel right at home working on my projects on either Windows (XP/Vista/7/8) and Linux (Ubuntu, Debian and Fedora - UNITY, GNOME and KDE window managers). I became a Linux enthusiast in 2006 when I first encountered Ubuntu (6.04) on a newly bought system. Since then I have had a Linux box near my desk at all times.

Ability to learn I consider myself to be a fast learner, especially when it comes down to working with unfamiliar technology or a new spoken language (I picked up Catalan during a 2 months visit in Barcelona and kept improving it by watching TV Shows dubbed in said language).

Analytical skills After finishing a game I usually perform successive playthroughs during which I take my time and experiment with the game's mechanics. I tend to be quite observant and I can differentiate and track down similarities between games of the same genre. It is a skill I have acquired in my early years and polished during my time as a Quality Assurance / Game Tester at Gameloft.

Mobile Development

I find that it's easier to showcase my own projects when they can be deployed / presented in just a few seconds. Even though I, mostly, work on projects aimed to be distributed on a Desktop Operating System I always have a mobile port in my pocket. I was first exposed to mobile development while at Gameloft where I had to work around the limited resources (in terms of hardware) of the targeted platforms. Nowadays I use mostly cross-platform solutions for my games and prototypes and I do my best to ensure that they offer a similar experience on both mobile and desktop. I have a proficient grasp in terms of Mobile UI Design (good practices, recommended UI elements and sizes, interaction and feedback), Mobile Oriented/Focused game mechanics, Control Schemes and Certification Requirements.

Outdoor and Indoor Level Design While working for Gameloft I was tasked with designing and scripting two of the ten levels present in the final game. The levels adhered to a sci fi / fantasy setting and required to deliver a feeling of loneliness and hazard. I was in charge of designing the combat situations for my levels as well as script several action sequences and handle lip synchronization during cutscenes.

Rapid Game Prototyping I take part in frequent 48h game jams during which I study, design and implement game mechanics and, in most cases, I manage to deliver, on time, a "functional" game which adhered to the theme and rules. I find that such sessions allow me to experiment with mechanics and ideas which, under normal circumstances, I do not experience or work with/on.
