MEALS Breakfast is provided by the hotel each day. Students are responsible for the cost of all other meals, unless otherwise indicated on the itinerary. There are five group meals included in the program cost.

TRANSPORT While in London, students will use the Tube and walk a lot. A London Travel Card for 3 days (zones 1 & 2) is included in the program cost. Friday, March 8

4:30pm Students arrive at JFK Airport, Terminal 4 Students are responsible for their own transportation to JFK Airport. Please have your passport available at check in. One piece of 50lb checked baggage is permitted free of charge. Overweight or additional checked pieces must be paid for upon check in. Your tickets are electronic and no further documentation is required other than your passport. Seating is assigned by the airlines but may be switched upon check in.

7:30pm Departure of Group Flight Virgin Atlantic (VS 0128) to Manchester Meal served in flight.

Saturday, March 9

6:55am Arrival in Manchester Upon arrival you will first clear Immigration, then proceed to collect your checked baggage. Once you have your baggage, proceed through Customs and into the Arrivals Hall.

TBD Bus Transfer from Airport to Hotel Students will travel by bus from the airport to the hotel. A representative from Select Travel will meet the group in the Arrivals Terminal. The trip is estimated to take two hours. The group will not be able to check into the hotel until 3pm, but the hotel will be able to store your bags for the day.

Afternoon Walking Tour of York Professors will guide students on a tour of York, including the cathedral, the Shambles, and walk the castle walls.

Monday, March 11: Visit to Whitby Abbey

Breakfast Students eat breakfast provided by the hotel on their own.

9:30am Board bus to The Moors Students should meet in the lobby to take the bus. The trip to the Wainstones will take approximately 1.5 hours.

10:00-11:30am Hike to the Wainstones Students will hike to the top of the Wainstones. Hike will take approximately 30 minutes each way. Students should dress in comfortable clothes with sturdy shoes.

Quick visit to Goathland The bus will stop briefly at Goathland (otherwise known as Hogsmeade station from Harry Potter) and students will have time to take photos and purchase souvenirs.

12:00-2:00pm Lunch at Robin Hood’s Bay It will take approximately 25 minutes to drive to Robin Hood’s Bay. Students eat lunch on their own and at their own expense.

2:20pm Travel to Whitby Abbey Take bus to Whitby Abbey (approximately 30 minutes). The Abbey may be under construction, so the tour could be limited.

8:00pm Return to York via bus

Breakfast Students eat breakfast provided by the hotel on their own.

8:30am Meet in hotel lobby for bus transfer to train station Students should be ready with their luggage and checked out of the hotel, settling any bills for incidentals charged to the room. Bus will take approximately 5 minutes.

9:30am Train to London (2 hour express train)

11:39am Train arrives in London (King’s Cross Station) Students will be met at the train station by representative from Select Travel and a bus, which will chauffeur the group around for the day.

Lunch Lunch at Borough Market Students will eat lunch on their own and at their own expense.

1:30pm Board bus for travel to Westminster Abbey with guided tour Following the guided tour, the bus will take the group to the hotel.

7:20pm Jack the Ripper Walking Tour The tour meets outside the Whitechapel Art Gallery, three minutes-walk from the hotel. Tour departs promptly at 7.30pm.

Wednesday, March 13

Breakfast Students eat breakfast provided by the hotel on their own.

9:00am Meet in Lobby for a Gothic Walking Tour of London Professors Geddes and Swartz will guide students to the Gothic sites of London.

10:00pm Group visit to the Tower of London & /Yeoman Tour The Beefeater or Yeoman tours are included in the admission to Tower of London and begin every 30 minutes. Tours begin near the main entrance to the Tower of London and last one hour. Students should join the queue, then join other members of the public on the tour.

12:30pm Group lunch at Students will enjoy an Italian lunch on south bank. The cost of this meal is included in program costs.

11:30am Guided tour of Highgate Cemetery Tour of West Cemetery

Afternoon Free Afternoon Students are on their own to explore London. Students will eat lunch and dinner on their own and at their own expense.

Friday, March 15

Breakfast The hotel will prepared a boxed breakfast for students to take with them to the airport.

6:30am Meet travel agent in hotel lobby to take bus to the airport Students should have their luggage packed and have checked out of the hotel, settling any bills for incidentals charged to the room. Transfer to the airport will take approximately 1 hour.

7:30am Arrive at Heathrow Airport (Terminal #3) and Check in for Delta Flight 0002 Please have your passport available at check in. One piece of 50lb checked baggage is permitted free of charge. Overweight or additional checked pieces must be paid for upon check in. Your tickets are electronic and no further documentation is required other than your passport.

10:30am Departure of Group Flight Delta (DL 0002) Heathrow to JFK Meal served in flight

2:41pm Group flight arrives JFK Students are responsible for their own transport home from JFK.
