OVERVIEW AFFECTED LOCATIONS Nigeria's North Central and North West Zones are afflicted with a mul�dimensional crisis that is rooted in long-standing tensions between ethnic and religious groups and involves a�acks by criminal groups and banditry/hirabah (such as kidnapping Sabon Birni NIGER REPUBLIC and grand larceny along major highways). The crisis has accelerated during the past Sokoto 1,096 years because of the intensifica�on of a�acks and has resulted in widespread Jibia Yobe displacement across the region. 599 Between 31 May and 06 June 2021, armed clashes between herdsmen and farmers, and bandits and local communi�es have led to new waves of popula�on displace- ment. Following these events, rapid assessments were conducted by DTM Katsina (Displacement Tracking Matrix) field staff with the purpose of informing the Jigawa humanitarian community and government partners, and enable targeted response. Zamfara Flash reports u�lise direct observa�on and a broad network of key informants to gather representa�ve data and collect informa�on on the number, profile and Kano immediate needs of affected popula�ons.

The latest a�acks affected 7,506 individuals including 149 injuries and 221 fatali�es Kebbi in Guma, , Ado and Katsina-Ala LGAs of Benue State, Jibia LGA of , Sabon Birni LGA of .
