Dear DudI ey,

As a 2003 Committee Chairperson of the Air, Surface and Transportation committee, we would like an article written by you about your committee accomplishments and recognition of your committee members. The reason I need this information, is because the Jacksonville Daily Progress is putting together the Annual Banquet Insert. The insert will be included in the paper and distributed prior to the banquet and will also be available at the banquet.

The 7gthAnnual Banquet will be Thursday, January 29, 2004 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Cherokee Country Club on Highway 79. A reception will be held at the Country Club prior to the banquet beginning at 530 p.m.

Please take a moment to write the article in 'your words' so the information will be included in the banquet insert. Many projects were completed because of the Chairmen's leadership and it is very important to highlight the accomplishments of 2003. I will need the information by Tuesday, January gfh. The information can be faxed 903/586-6944 or emailed to [email protected]. If you have any questions, please call me at 9031586-2217.

Dudley: ,P Thank you for broadcasting the Region 21 Marching Band Contest this past Saturday. With the FCC claiming that too many radio stations are not serving the public interest, you have gone far above the challenge.

Whether the high school band performances you broadcast had 50 members or 250 members, each of their communities have great pride in their local band programs. The school administrators, community leaders and, of course, the parents support these programs with thousands of dollars each year. Thanks for your support in sharing with thousands of listeners the excitement of competition. Moms and dads, aunts and uncles-and don't forget those grandparents-all those who cannot travel to the competition, support your efforts to bring this event to your listening audience.

Pete Kunkel and I have had the pleasure of inaugurating this broadcast fifteen years ago. It is our intent to positively support the high school band programs of our area and encourage all students to strive to do their best and always take pride in their efforts.

Thank you again for your support of our efforts and be sure to place this public service broadcast in your Public File.

Sincerely,

qerry T. Hanszen OwnerIGeneral Manager Humane Society of Smith County, Inc. rl P.O. Box 6151 Tyler, Texas 75711 903 597-2471 Fax 903 597-0708 www.hsosc.orq

Thank you for the part you played in making the Humane Society’s 4th annual Pets in the Park fund-raiser April 13th such a great success.

It appeared that everyone had a wonderfbl time - animals and humans alike. It’s estimated that approximately 2,000 people and approximately 750 animals, many of whom were alumni of the Humane Society’s animal shelter, were on hand to enjoy the beauty of Bergfeld Park and the great weather. _; There were big dogs, little dogs, best dressed dogs, attractively challenged dogs, dogs weighing fiom ‘/z pound to 200 pounds. It was a sight to be seen - - a bulldog in a ballerina tutu; a greyhound in Hawaiian attire; a Dalmatian dressed in red, white and blue; a dog in a bumblebee outfit -you wouldn’t have believed your eyes.

Due to the efforts of everyone involved, Pets in the Park raised $7,200 and found homes for two puppies fiom the Humane Society’s animal shelter. Proceeds fiom this annual event will be used to help dehy operating expenses for the Humane Society’s animal shelter, which receives approximately 12,000 dogs and cats a year. Funding for a not for profit organization is always a challenge; therefore fund-raisers such as Pets In The Park are very important to our continued growth.

Again, thank you for your support - we look forward to working with you at Pets in the Park 2003.

This is the best sound in . When I was living in Dallas I was a Oasis listener. Ilove Smooth Jazz and your new station has it. It even sounds better than Dallas. Thank goodness I read Friday's paper and saw your ad. I called my Mother in Longview early this morning to tell her and she was so excited. We will be regular listeners. I will tell my friends in Tyler, also. Congratulations on this new station. I am switching from your 106.5 to 102.3. I have been listening to Smooth Jazz for about 15 years ( The Oasis in Dallas and buying CD's). I live in Tyler and I feel like we ate a little Dallas and I like that.

Thank you,

MY favorite music is jazz, and it is great to know that when I get in my truck will be listening to great music all the time. Before this came along the only jazz that I would get to hear would be on one of my 0's or when I go to Dallas. (the Oasis) I am telling all of my friends and fellow musician friends about this and I just wanted to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ...... and you guys are doing a fantastic job !!!

Dear Mr. Reininger:

What a week, but the 2003 Patriot Classic is over. The largest Classic event ever, this year's Classic events expanded to include the Patriot Tennis Classic, featuring professional tennis player Stephanie Mabry, the now famous Texas "Shootout" Barbecue and Auction, featuring Tanya Sims and the Bobcats, the Patriot Scholarship Concert, featuring Marcia Ball, a full week of Hole in One qualifying rounds, the Hole in One Finals on Sunday, the Patriot Classic Corporate Shootout, the players Party, all leading up to Monday's Patriot Golf Classic, featuring the Major Applewhite luncheon. Nine days of nonstop action and fun - all to raise academic scholarship funds. The tally is not in, but the expectation is that through the efforts of a lot of people, UT Tyler will be able to offer 125 academic scholarships to worthy students who might not otherwise have been able to attend UT Tyler.

Thank you for the significant role you played in making the first Patriot Tennis Classic a tremendous success. UT Tyler is blessed in many ways, and we count you among those blessings.

Dear Mr. Joos,

I just wanted to write and thank you for running a employment PSA for us. We received many calls and inquires. Out of those inquires, we have hired a person that I think will do an excellent job for us. I feel that we received more inquires from the PSA than we would have by advertising in the paper. So for that I again send my thanks.

None of this would have happened, however, without the creativity and hard work of Eileen O'Rourke. She is an asset to our organization as a member of our Board of Directors. I enjoy working with her as we strive to move this organization forward.

On behalf of Lon, Grace & Scott Knight, Suzanne Curtis, the entire Great Strides committee and the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation, I would like to take a moment and thank you for your very generous support of the 2001 Riders West Great Strides Walk-A-Thon benefiting cystic fibrosis. Your generous contribution is a valuable and much-appreciated addition to our fund raising efforts.

It is heartwarming to be a part of a community that is so wann and giving, giving of not only their time . but of their dollars. To be able to report to some surrounding organizations inside and outside of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of what support all of you have given in helping to find a cure for cystic fibrosis is unbelievable. The love and compassion that you share with others does not go unnoticed.

As you may know, all proceeds from the Tyler Great Strides benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cystic fibrosis takes more lives every year than multiple sclerosis, diabetes and, muscular dystrophy combined The defective gene that causes CF was found in 1989, and in 1993 human gene therapy began. If current tests are successbl, the cure for CF is within our grasp!

We are happy to report that the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has received recognition h SmMonq, the magazine of The Wall Street Journal as one of “17 charities that won’t waste your money.” For the second year in a row, the CF Foundation has been cited for its efficiency. We are extraordinarily proud of this accomplishment and know that this efficiency will continue to pay big dividends in terms of medical advances.

Thank you so much again for giving the 30,000 children and young adults with CF added hope for a cure wihn their lifetime. It is the generosity of people like you that will help us make that final step toward our goal: ‘finding a cure.
