1. Please provide details of the key local issues or locations in the LTN neighbourhood area that you are aware of which create problems or safety concerns with accessibility for people walking, with reduced mobility, cycling and wheeling.

A. Speed & volume of intrusive traffic on Craigs Road which then uses smaller roads like North Gyle Road, North Gyle Terrace and Craigs Gardens. This gets worse when there is queueing traffic on Road (a common occurrence pre lockdown) B. House building to the West of East Craigs which will use Craigs Road (west of Maybury Rd) as principal access route, increasing volume of traffic using Craigs Road – which will appear the intuitive route to & central . C. Narrow pavement on the hill at the west end of Craigs Road as well as narrow road bring wing mirrors over the pavement edge. This section will become increasingly busy with school children from new developments walking to Craigmount HS. D. Poor connections out of East Craigs to neighbouring areas for non-motorised traffic to avoid main road. E.g. dog leg crossing many without signalised crossings and only the Dechmont Rd crossing of Glasgow road and North Gyle Terrace crossing of Maybury Road allowing people on bikes. a) Craigs Road to Templeland b) Craigmount View to Gardens c) Craigmount Way to Duart Cres, Drumbrae Drive & Terrace d) Bartongate Ave to Dr or Barnton Park View e) West end of Barntongate Ave to Gardens f) East Craigs Rigg to Maybury Casino g) Craigs Gardens to Gylemuir Road

E. Wide entrance to Barntongate Terrace off Barntongate Ave making crossing difficult.

2. Please provide details of the key local issues or locations in the LTN neighbourhood area that you are aware of in relation to safety concerns due to traffic.

See above 3. Please provide details of any known locations or spaces in the neighbourhood which provide for opportunities for placemaking and creating improved public and community spaces.

A. Market. B. Craigs Road in front of Craigmount HS

4. Please provide details of any other objectives or issues your group feels the LTN should try and address and include within its scope.

A. Scrape the path network around East Craigs to its full width, cut back foliage, and resurface in areas where tree roots have caused considerable damage e.g. West side of Fauldburn Park & south side of Bughtlin Burn B. Find new ways of emptying bins on East Craigs path Network that doesn’t involve vans driving on the verges and bringing mud onto the paths. A regular occurrence. C. Install dropped kerbs throughout East Craigs – note that the 1970s development had very few dropped kerbs installed. D. Scrape the full width of the West side pavement of Maybury Road.
