Dear Friends: Morehead State University is committed to upholding the highest integrity within all procedures and practices of the athletic department. We are pleased to publ ish this note as a reference to understanding often confusing NCAA regulations. The NCAA defines "representatives of athletic interests" as alumni, friends and boosters of the University. All member institutions are held accountable for their representatives' actions. One violation could jeopardize the eligibility of any or all Eagle Athletic programs. As a general rule, anyone who has financially supported Eagle Athletics, been a member of any booster organization, or who has supported Eagle Athletics is considered a "representative" of Eagle Athletics. If anyone has questions regarding these types of relationships, please contact Brian Hutchinson, Director of Development & Marketing (606) 783-2593. Prospective student-athletes can be defined as a student who has started classes in the ninth grade or any younger student athl ete who has received a benefit from the institution. These individuals may only be recruited by MSU coaches who have passed the NCAA Recruiting Rules Examination. While "representatives" of Eagle Athletics may speak to any of these individuals via telephone or in person, a recruiting effort must not be made. Also, no student-athlete or prospective student athlete may receive any extra benefit outside of the support provided by the institution. For any questi ons regarding this description, please contactJim Wells, Compliance and Educational Services Director (606) 783-5 136. These are certainly not all the regulations any "representative" of Eagle Athletics must remember. I Iowever, they provide a good outline of the types of things that could endanger the eli gibil ity of any MSU Athletics program. Again, feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Thanks again for your support of Morehead State Athletics. It was a summer to renovate our commitment to the intellectual, academic, and personal growth of young leaders and maintain the unity of our learning community as “one program on three sites.” It was also a summer to honor the past and reconnect our alumni’s achievements with the bright future of many new generations to be served by the GSP. On June 13, more than 1,100 scholars—both past and present—all gathered together on Centre College’s campus for Alumni Day. Although Alumni Day has been a recurring event on our three campuses, for the first time this year we united the scholars in one place to meet with GSP alumni who have become leaders throughout our Commonwealth.

Cardinal Tradition Louisville Basketball Louisville Basketball Tradition asketball is special to Kentuckians. The sport B permeates everyday life from offices to farm- lands, from coal mines to neighborhood drug stores. It is more than just a sport played in the cold winter months. It is a source of pride filled year-round with anticipation, hope and celebration. Kentuckians love their basketball, and the tradition-rich University of Louisville program has supplied its fans with one of the nation’s finest products for decades. Legendary coach Bernard “Peck” Hickman, a Basketball Hall of Fame nominee, arrived on the UofL campus in 1944 to begin a remarkable string of 46 consecutive winning seasons. For 23 seasons, Hickman laid an impressive foundation for UofL. John Dromo, an assistant coach under Hickman for 19 years, continued the Louisville program in outstanding fashion following Hickman’s retirement. For 30 years, Denny Crum followed the same path of success that Hickman and Dromo both walked, guiding the Cardinals to even higher acclaim. Now, Coach Rick Pitino energized a re-emergence in building upon the rich UofL tradition in his 16 years, guiding the Cardinals to the 2013 NCAA championship, NCAA Final Fours in 2005 and 2012 and the NCAA Elite Eight five of the past 10 sea- sons.
