On the Marriage Certificate it states that Victor was born in Memel and that he was 25 years old and that his father's name was Peter.

Memel as stated in the Encyclopaedia was made up of a town which is now called Klaipeda situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea near Lithuania.

Germany controlled the area until the end of World War 1 when the treaty of Versailles forced Germany to turn the Territory over to the Allies.

In January 1923, citizens of Lithuania seized Memel to get an outlet to the sea.

The Council of the League of Nations accepted the seizure and Memel become part of Lithuania.

Germany regained control of the Territory in 1939 and during World War 2 (1945) the Russian Forces drove German troops out of Memel and it became part of the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic.

It was stated that Victor jumped ship at Port Germein and was boarding at the Boarding House in Florence Street, Port Pirie which was managed by Hannah Murphy (O'Sullivan).

It was also said that Victor met Mary Murphy at this Boarding House and later got married.

On Victor's Naturalization Papers it states that Victor arrived in Australia on the 'Lock Broom' from Scotland landing at Port Adelaide, South Australia on the 26 October 1904.

Charlie attended Saint Anthony's School in Port Pirie completing grade 7.

After leaving school he worked for Perry Kennett (builder) working for approximately 9 months and then commenced work at Broken Hill Associated Smelters as an Office Boy working at the Smelters for 18 months. He then worked for the Co-Opertative Store in Port Pirie for awhile and then obtained a job with the Port Pirie Council serving behind the counter. After awhile on this job he began working as Port Pirie City Council Worker until he joinned the army in 1943.

He commenced his Recruit Training at Cowra, and was posted to Bathurst and Dubbo and also did work in Queensland while on unpaid leave from the army with Kingaroy picking peanuts and also tobacco picking.

Charlie was posted to Boganville where he was wounded and sent back to Daws Road where he was discharged on Christmas Eve 1945.

After this, he returned to the Port Pirie City Council where he continued to work for approximately 15 years He then commenced work for the South Australian Highways Department where he continued to drive heavy machinery until his retirement in 1985.

During his lifetime he partnered with Burnice May Schrieber from Hawker for approximately 15 years and did purchase a house on Esmond Road where they presided for a few years.

Burnice and Charlie parted company and Charlie moved to a flat on the Main Road, just north of the Sportsman Tavern in Port Pirie. After a few years he obtained a Generation 2 (con't) just north of the Sportsman Tavern in Port Pirie. After a few years he obtained a Pensioner's Unit in Moorehouse Street, just across the road from his nephew, Kevin Maywald. ix. VICTOR FREDERICK REINSCHMIDT (biological son of Victor Peter Reinschmidt and son of Mary Cacelia Murphy) was born on 18 April 1928. He died on 27 July 2011 in St Joseph's Nursing Home Port Pirie.

Notes for Victor Frederick Reinschmidt: Victor served approximately 2 years in the Australian Navy and according to his brother Charlie saw a lot of the World.

Charlie believed that Victor joined the Navy in approximately in 1947 and after his recruit training spent most of his time on the Brittanic. x. Mary was born on 30th March 1920 at Port Pirie West. Mary Reinschmidt went to Saint Marks for a short period before going to Saint Anthony's until the age of 14. After she left school she worked for Martin's Tearooms in Norman Street, before working for her sister Kath in Alexander Street at the Tearooms. She earnt 10 shillings a week. During their life span, Tom and Mary lived at Paratoo, Tarcoola, Port Pirie, Rosewater, Monarto and finally back to Port Pirie to settle. When applying for her Pension, Mary found out that her name was actually spelt Marie on the Birth Certificate. [Maywald.FTW]

Tom was born on 23rd April 1917 at Appila and baptised there as well. He went to school at Appila and Wangyarra until the age of 13. When he left school he worked on several farms at Wangyarra, Laura and Wirrabarra earning himself between 5/- and 15/- plus keep. After doing this for seven years he worked for the South Australian Railways for 9 1/2 years. He then did a stint for 12 months driving semi-trailers before working on the Wharf/ Stevedoring for the rest of his working life, 1948 - 1982. He met his bride-to-be, Mary Reinschmidt at Port Pirie in 1937, and they were married on 10th April, 1939, where, apart from a short period at Adelaide and Murray Bridge (Monarto), they lived all their lives. Tom and Mary lived at 32 Edward Street, Port Pirie before work requirements made them move to Adelaide where they bought a house at Rosewater near Port Adelaide. After retiring, they bought land at Monarto, outside Murray Bridge, and later moved back to Port Pirie, where they lived at 43 John Street, until 1994, when they moved into Unit 4, 56 Federation Road, a couple of doors down from Tom's sister, Ivy.

In early 2003, Tom was Baptised a Catholic & on the 23 February 2003, Tom made his Communion and Confirmation in Saint Marks Cathedral, Port Pirie.

Tom and Mary renwed their Wedding Vowels on the same day as Tom made his Communion & Confirmation

Brian was born in South Australia. He married Shirley Gigney of Wirrabarra 29th July, 1961. Brian worked in a shop, on The Terrace, Port Pirie, and on 31st May 1960, joined the South Australian Railways as a Junior Porter, and eventually became a Guard. During his time in the Railways, he had many shifts to different towns throughout S.A., Cockburn, Terowie and Peterborough. Kevin Maywald went to Saint Anthony's school for a short time before going to Solomontown Primary School. After finishing Primary School he went to Port Pirie High School until 1961 when he got a job at Martin's Menswear, Ellen Street, earning Four Pounds Seven and Sixpence a week. After 12 months at this job he went into the Post Office as a Telegram delivery boy for a short period before going to the S.A. Railways as a Cleaner. After a short time in this job Kevin joined the Army (Service No. 43760) where he was a Gunner in the Artillery Corp for 9 months at Holsworthy, Liverpool. He then transferred to the Military Police where he did service at South Head, Singleton, Rockhampton, Vietnam, Brisbane and Townsville. After 5 1/2 years in the Army, Kevin left and returned to Port Pirie where he met Helen Parr nee Alchin. Kevin married Helen, at the Courthouse in Florence Street on the 27th March 1976. Helen was the 10th child of William and Toddy (nee Edmunds) Alchin, who already had 3 children to a previous marriage and started work at the Smelters (B.H.A.S.). He stayed there for 23 years, and in 1993 took a voluntary redundancy. Kevin and Helen have two children to this marriage, Thomas and Skye. While in the Smelters he was a Sub-branch Secretary for the F.E.D. & F.A. Union (CFMEU) and when he left the Smelters he became the Secretary for Port Pirie Junior Soccer Association. In July 1997 Kevin became employed as a Security Guard at Roxby Downs working for Group 4 Securitas. Helen went to school at Bundaleer Forest until grade 5 and then went to Solomontown Primary School until grade 7. After leaving school in 1960 she moved to Alice Springs to look after her sister's children and worked at Armstrong's Store earning Six Pounds a week. Helen moved back to Port Pirie in 1963 and married John Parr who died at an early age leaving her to raise 3 children by herself. Rodney attended St. Anthony's school for two years, and then went to Solomontown Primary School until Grade 7, when he went to Port Pirie High School for two years. His first job was temporary as a Telegram Boy in the Port Pirie Post Office over the Christmas period, but was made permanent early in the year, and was a Telegram Boy, Postie and sorted mail in the mail room and private boxes. Rod stayed with the Post Office for approximately 18 months, when he joined the S.A. Railways as a Junior Porter, and stayed there for twelve months prior to joining the Regular Army. Rod enlisted in the Army (Service Number 43898) on 5th September 1965, and did his rookie training at Silver City, Kapooka. From there, he went to the School of Signals, Balcombe Victoria for aptitude testing, and General Duties until allocated to a course. After the Christmas period he was posted to the School of Signals, Ingleburn, N.S.W., where he attended Marconi School of Wireless, East Hills for Operator Radio training. September, 1966, he was then posted to 7 Signal Regiment, Cabarlah, Queensland to do an Operator Signals course. Whilst on this course, he met his future bride, Patricia, third child of John David and Edna (nee Jackson) Barry. Rod and Pat were married at the Catholic Church, Bacchus Marsh Victoria on 20th April 1968. Later that year they were posted to Singapore for two years. Rod's home base was Cabarlah, and from there he was posted to Vietnam, Singapore, Darwin and Melbourne, always returning to Cabarlah after each posting. During his second posting to Melbourne, he retired, 1st December 1986, and they bought the General Store at Yaapeet, Vic. Whilst in Darwin, Rod worked with Woolworths for several months part-time, and also worked at McDonalds, Broadmeadows as a cleaner for a short time. Rod got his Heavy Articulated Licence in Rainbow, and carted grain for Ian Roll, Tren Fisher, Nev & Trev Petschel & Yaapeet Farming Co (Fishers) during harvests around the Yaapeet area. He also worked for Ian Klemm on the Silos loading trains and also building sheds. As there were no married women in the forces when Pat & Rod married, Pat was discharged from the Army on her marriage, but during the first trip to Singapore, she enlisted as Permanent C.M.F., and was one of the first married women in the Armed Forces. She stayed in the Army until after Rod came back from Vietnam, Christmas Eve, 1971. During Rod's career, Pat also worked as a waitress at Motels in the Toowoomba area. They sold the shop on the 8th February, 1997, and moved to Ballarat, where they rented for a couple of months, then bought a house at Lot 12 Haleys Road, Ross Creek. Thomas was born in Port Pirie, and attended Solomontown Primary School. He completed year 12 at Port Pirie High School in 1994. Thomas was a keen soccer player, playing in the State and Country Championships representing Port Pirie. He was also a keen Australian Rules Footballer. He is now involved in basketball where he is a qualified referee & coach. He is also the organiser of a few basketball teams in Port Pirie and has been nominated to be a coach for teams representing Port Pirie. He had a part-time job working in Hanlon's Sports Store and also set up shop venturing into the sale of sports cards (1995). In 1997, he started work for Coles in the vegetable section and is now working mainly on the checkout and front desk.

Skye was also born in Port Pirie, and attended Solomontown Kindergarten and Primary Schools. Whilst at Solly Primary she was involved in the Student Representative Council for a year, and became Captain of her school sports colour and Vice Captain of the school. In 1998 Skye was in her third year of High School at John Pirie Secondary School and was Junior School Captain. In her first year she became Treasurer of the Student Representative Council and received three Generation 5 (con't) her first year she became Treasurer of the Student Representative Council and received three awards for her work and service to the school. Skye has played Netball and Basketball, winning one Premiership with her brother's team "Hellas Sharks". On the opening of McDonalds in 1998, Skye got a job as a counter assistant but about 6 months later she applied for a job as night fill at Woolworths as casual.
