Holy Spirit’s Fall Festival Music for Everyone!

Holy Spirit Catholic Church, located at 1111 W. Danieldale Road, Duncanville, TX 75137, will hold its FREE annual Fall Festival on Saturday and Sunday, September 28-29, 2013 with plenty of fun, games, food and oh yes, LOTS of great music!

Sound Oasis, featuring Cornell Kinderknecht on world flutes and woodwinds, Martin McCall on drums and percussion, and Cynthia Stuart playing keyboards and percussion, is music that feeds the soul - mixing world music with jazz with new age with pop with a bit of humor thrown in.

Taikodelic is a wholly American exploration of the Japanese style of drumming called Taiko. The group consists of performers from many backgrounds, musical and non-musical, and melds the influences within a traditional framework to perform traditional festival pieces, arrangements of well known songs from Japanese touring groups, and original pieces to excite the American audience. http://www.taikodelic.com

Selkie Girls - Alli Johnson - Vocals, Guitar; Jaycie DeVane - Vocals, Penny Whistle, Flutes; Kimia Penton - Vocals, Violin; Dave Ervin - Vocals, Guitars; Joel Black - Vocals, Upright Bass, Electric Bass; and Martin McCall - Bodhran, Percussion. The Selkie Girls are a -based Celtic music team celebrating the musical traditions of Ireland and Scotland. Linda King and Michael Harrison - A special treat; Linda and Michael play at the Irish Festival as well as other Celtic festivals. They perform a variety of original and traditional tunes for children of all ages, so bring the kids and family to listen and sing along.

Big Chicken Review - Chris Edwards has rounded up some old friends and some new ones to bring a high-energy, rock-a-billy review to our stage. Grab a chair but be sure it’s bolted down, and give a listen to some of the best local guitar players around.

Benton Lawson Project - Benton Lawson leads this powerful trio of strong musicians through an adventure of soulful rock, funk, and , delivering music that has an attitude you can feel. The band can only be described as rock solid with a chemistry every audience can hear and see. The Benton Lawson Project sounds like and covers Black Keys, JJ Grey & Mofro, Kravitz, The Heavy, Prince, Doyle Bramhall II, Ian Moore, , Black Crowes, and many more.

Desmond Bunney’s Lonely Hearts Club Band - Come sing and dance along with the Bunney Band’s blend of Rock ‘n Roll, Country, Folk, Celtic and popular dance tunes. Be sure to sing and dance along.
