The next Board meeting will be held via Zoom on Tuesday, September 8 at noon. All membership is invited to join us, especially new members who are trying to earn that coveted Blue Badge! Birthdays Please let President Launius or Donna K know that you are interested in joining us so we can send you the appropriate meeting link. Tiffany B. Rogers August 14th Wade Naramore August 15th Donna Jared CFRE President Chuck Launius August 17th Within our club is 19 committees (chairs and members) and 5 Stephanie M Nehus Directors who make up the Hot Springs National Park Rotary Club. August 22nd The action and work that is taken on by these committees is what Chris Chapmond constitutes our club. I would like to thank Allan Spraggins and Clay August 25th Farrar for their leadership regarding the potential grounds Christina Lynn Nation maintenance project at the former Army/Navy hospital. It only August 31st reminds us that each of us has an idea that can be put into action. Chuck E. Launius It might be planned and assumed each year like our scholarships. It August 31st might be something we do every year like our food and coat drives or it can be something that comes from a need in the community Richard Gladden like the HSNP After Hours Satellite Club who collected over 500 lbs September 2nd of animal food for local shelters in July. Ray Owen Jr. Since our downtown has often been at the center of our clubs September 5th actions and legacy, this potential project for cleaning up the grounds James A Carney at the former Army/Navy hospital is at our core of community September 6th service. It is a perfect project and it didnt come from club Nicole Herndon leadership but rather from our club membership. September 10th Each of you has that idea so let me or your committee chairs know about it and see if we can put it into action because HSNP Rotarians are people of action. Richard W. McGrew We are Rotarians because we care about our club; but more importantly, we care about our community September 12th as well as the world. As your president, it is an honor to serve with you. Joseph P. Graham September 13th Douglas A. Arnold September 14th Announcements Meredith Blaise Switzer September 18th President Chuck Launius wants to be sure everyone knows that we CAN invite guests to our Zoom Joseph L. Woosley meetings. Simply forward your Zoom meeting invitation to your guest, then please let President Launius September 20th know they are attending so that he can make the proper introduction during the meeting. Thank you! Rollin Caristianos September 21st Rotarian Alan Spraggins announced that there is a future project opportunity at the ACTI building. Daniel Brown The building was set to revert back to the Federal Government's ownership on July 1, but that did not September 24th happen. The State of Arkansas is still in possession of the building and land. The grounds are looking pretty bad, and we first intended to have a work day next Saturday, but the state has said that they will provide one more mowing and clean up. Alan and Clay Farrar had already reached out to the Oaklawn Rotary Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Association to join us for cleaning up the 3- 4 blocks along Reserve Street. So as of now, it is on hold, but likely we will have another opportunity for a work day during the fall. Stay tuned!
