Structural Measures Working Party – 17 March 2020 Member States discussed the Commission proposal on the Coronavirus Response Investment Iniave (CRII) and the proposed amendments to the Regulaon on the EU Solidarity Fund (EUSF): CRII proposal: lengthy discussion, where almost all MS advocated for further changes being introduced in the exisng rules on cohesion policy. EUSF proposal: some delegaons sought more clarity on how to calculate the “public ﬁnancial burden” in case of a public health emergency, what should be the me-limit for applicaons. Coreper meeng - 18 March 2020 MS ambassadors adopted the measures proposed by COM without amendments - see aached report << File: Windows-10_Zoom.docx >> Next steps: European Parliament to adopt COM proposed emergency measures to combat COVID-19. It will be done via an extraordinary mini-plenary session on Thursday 26 March at which a remote vong system will be used. This remote vong system will be used unl the summer. The mini-plenary session on Thursday 26 March will replace the one scheduled for early April

Commission sent leer to all EU MS to inform them on the individual support they can receive under the Coronavirus Response Investment Iniave (CRII) – 18 March 2020 The leers, sent by Commissioners Elisa Ferreira and Nicolas Schmit, are available here. They provide details on the amounts available for each country, the type of expenditure newly eligible under the EU structural and solidarity funds - for instance to support health systems, procure medical equipment or ensure access to healthcare for vulnerable groups, and the current possibilies to mobilise ﬁnancing through ERDF and ESF to ﬂexibly respond to the rapidly emerging needs in the most exposed sectors. EPSCO Council: high-level videoconference on social and employment consequences of COVID-19 - 19 March 2020 The Commission issued a strong call for coordinated and swi acon to alleviate the socio-economic impact of the crisis. This year’s theme is “Green Deal: green skills and jobs”. This event which take place on 12-15 October 2020 at the Square Convenon Centre at Mont des Arts in Brussels.
