Freedom Movement to lead protest against unaffordable fuel levies in Tshwane

Cllr Siobhan Muller in Ward 82 Freedom Movement to lead protest against unaffordable fuel levies in Tshwane

Tomorrow, Tuesday 31 July 2018, the Freedom Movement will lead a protest outside the National Treasury’s offices in Tshwane calling for an immediate reduction in the fuel levies which now make up 33% of the total cost of fuel per litre. A memorandum will be handed over to National Treasury setting out these demands. South Africans are being made to pay for government corruption and are struggling to get by. This will only get worse unless we immediately bring the petrol price below R15 per litre. National government cannot delay these interventions any longer. We invite NGO’s, political parties, religious bodies, taxi associations, civil society organisations and ordinary South Africans to join this protest. This is not a party-political fight this is a civil society movement representing every South African struggling to make ends meet in these trying economic times. Details of the protest are as follows: Date: Tuesday, 31 July 2018 Time: 10:00 Venue: National Treasury Office, Tshwane Address: 40 Church Square, Tshwane

FIBRE CONTRACTORS TO DIG UP SIDEWALKS

Cllr Siobhan Muller in Ward 82 Dear Residents

Unfortunately our sidewalks are to be dug up for fibre. I am posting areas where I have been informed of these projects - they seem to be for Telkom. I have included the contact person in the event you needing them for your area. The contractors must repair the side walk and paving when they complete the project.

ASHLEA GARDENS WATER PIPE REPLACEMENT PROJECT COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER REPORT

Cllr Siobhan Muller in Ward 82 ASHLEA GARDENS WATER PIPE REPLACEMENT PROJECT COMMUNITY LIAISON OFFICER REPORT Mivan Howard Updated JULY 2018 On the 25th June 2018 the City of Tshwane began replacing a portion of the existing water pipe network in the Ashlea Gardens area. This is an essential and urgent project due to leaks in the current pipe network. The project is proposed to be underway between June 2018 and June 2019 (12 months) in the suburbs of Ashlea Gardens, Alphenpark, Maroelana and Hazelwood. The project has progressed well thus far with initial excavations and inspections being completed in phase one. The contractor has determined were most of the existing services are located. Further excavation and pipe replacement will follow in the next phases. There is the potential for water and traffic interruptions during the project. You should be informed prior to any disruption and interruptions should be temporary. Should your pavement, paving and/or drive-way be affected by the process, the City of Tshwane will restore the paving to the best of their ability after the work is completed. However, sprinkler systems, grass, plants and trees on verges cannot be replanted or replaced by the city. Precautions are taken to avoid and reduce any damage to existing structures. It is strongly advised that prior to work commencing on the verges adjacent to your property, you remove your sprinkler system and plants and reinstall and replant them afterwards. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. The Community Liaison Officer (CLO) – Mivan Howard, cell phone: 082 842 2439, email: [email protected] has been appointed for this project and can be contacted regarding further information. The CLO will also provide progress reports to the City of Tshwane, council and community as the project proceeds. Note that all materials, labour and subcontractors have been strictly locally sourced according to the City of Tshwane and EPWP process. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during the project.
