It may very well be the last as well, but as I used to say in my previous career “nothing is certain on the waterfront” and nothing is certain here as well. It has been just shy of 19 years and it doesn’t get easier. It is like the old adage “between a rock and a hard place” in that there have never been a better lot of artists than there are now: Dale Watson, Justin Trevino, Amber Digby, Ron Williams etc yet the major label music scene is, for a lack of a better word stuffed. Yet some people are impossible to convince. Some people refuse to take anything but the CMT route. It wouldn’t matter if I said Ron Williams’ is the best cd I have had this year and is right up there with the best ever of Mark Chesnutt, Keith Whitley and co. If you watch CMT and enjoy it then I will sell you a share in the Sydney Harbour Bridge. If you watch it and question its merit we have the answers for you. Please read on. ----------------------------------- Ron Williams – “Texas Style” $32 If anything beats this as album of the year I will be very surprised.

  • Its the Gospel According to Luke
THE BIBLE NOTEBOOK Verse By Verse Bible Studies © 2005 Johnny L. Sanders IT’S THE GOSPEL According to Luke by Johnny L. Sanders, D. Min. Copyright© 2005 Johnny L. Sanders All Rights Reserved DEDICATION To John and Mark I love you, my sons (I never get tired of saying it) INTRODUCTION TO THE THIRD GOSPEL 2 GOSPEL. The word “Gospel” is commonly defined today as “good news” - and that it is! However, according to some accounts, in pre-New Testament times it was used to denote the reward given to the bearer of good news. In the New Testament it denotes the announcement of, and the recording of good news. There is a difference between an event and the account of the event. To Luke, the Gospel is, first and foremost, what God did through Jesus Christ, and then the continuation of what He did through His church (see the Book of Acts). The Gospel According to Luke and the Book of Acts form a unit and need to be studied together for maximum benefit. It should be remembered that this is not the Gospel of Luke - it is the Gospel of Jesus Christ, according to Luke. AUTHORSHIP. All evidence points to the fact that Luke, the Gentile physician and trusted friend and co-worker of Paul, was the author of both the Gospel According to Luke and the Book of Acts. Scholarship and tradition both support this claim. Luke wrote about one-fourth of all the Scripture in the New Testament, and the book that bears his name has been ranked by many among the most beautiful books ever written.

Led by pacesetters such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Kris Kristofferson, and Bobby Bare, artists in Nashville and Austin demanded the creative freedom to make their own country music, different from the pop-oriented sound that prevailed at the time. This exhibition also examines the cultures of Nashville and fiercely independent Austin, and the complicated, surprising relationships between the two. Artwork by Sam Yeates, Rising from the Ashes, Willie Takes Flight for Austin (2017) 3-6 Introduction 3 This interdisciplinary lesson guide allows classrooms to explore the exhibition Outlaws and Armadillos: Country’s Roaring ‘70s on view at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum® from May 25, 2018 – February 14, 2021. Students will examine the causes and effects of the Outlaw movement through analysis of art, music, video, and nonfiction texts. In doing so, students will gain an understanding of the culture of this movement; who and what influenced it; and how these changes diversified country music’s audience during this time.

IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE MIDDLE DISTRICT OF TENNESSEE NASHVILLE DIVISION KING RECORDS, INC., et al., ) ) Plaintiffs, ) ) v. ) Case No. 3:03cv1130 ) DONALD M. DAILY, et al., ) Judge Thomas A. Wiseman, Jr. ) Defendants. ) MEMORANDUM OPINION Before the Court is Plaintiffs’ motion for summary judgment (Doc. No. 304). Specifically, Plaintiffs seek summary judgment on the following grounds: (1) That Defendants have received “all associated rights and obligations” to which they are entitled in the George Jones Musicor master recordings that were to be transferred to Defendants pursuant to the August 30, 2003 letter agreement (“Settlement Agreement”); (2) That Defendants have received all the George Jones Musicor master recordings as well as all “DATs, multitrack and mixed-down tapes” that they are entitled to receive pursuant to the Settlement Agreement; and (3) That the only sales by Plaintiffs of product manufactured from the George Jones Musicor master recordings after the expiration of the time period provided in the Settlement Agreement for Plaintiffs to sell off existing inventory were sales by Plaintiff International Marketing Group (“IMG”) of 1,359 units to Music net, Inc. (See Doc. No. 304, at 1–2.) Defendants oppose Plaintiffs’ motion on the basis that material issues of disputed fact render summary judgment inappropriate. For the reasons and on the grounds discussed in greater detail below, the Court finds that material issues of disputed fact preclude summary judgment on the issues of (1) whether Plaintiffs conveyed all the multitrack Musicor recordings in their possession that they were required to convey and (2) whether the recordings to which the parties refer as the “Mike Stone Tapes” are “mixed-down tapes” that Plaintiffs were required to convey to Defendants in accordance with the Settlement Agreement.
