Please note that the Year 6 ‘drop in’ will be on Thursday 12th July 3.15 - 4.30pm. ♦ Last day of Term Friday 20th July Transition Day Thursday 12th July ♦ First day of New Term Next Thursday is the transition morning for the whole school. Year groups Reception to Year 5 will all Thursday 6th September move up a class and meet their new teacher who they will have in September. Year 6 will go to their High Schools for the day. (Each child will have had a letter from their High School) Pupils will need to make their own way to High School themselves to prepare them for September. Governors Meeting Forward Thinking! Years 3,4,5 & 6. Come and support your child’s team by wearing their team colours. Swimming Gala Message from Rob McCombe, Partnership Development Manager, West & Dereham School Sports Partnership. Hopefully you all enjoyed yesterdays Swimming Gala. I felt the event was a terrific success and the kids had a fantastic time. The overall result is listed below: 1st - Scarning 50pts (4 1st places ) 2nd - Toft Jnr 48pts (7 1st places) 3rd - Dereham St nix 44pts (2 1st places) 4th - 37pts (0 1st places) 5th - S.Morley 29pts (1 1st place)

Scarning by the Sea Reception class had a special day at the seaside in their own class and playground this week. They had ice-creams, chips, and paddling pool fun!

Zach liked looking for crabs and the ice-creams the best.

Robyn played in the sand and went in the swimming pool.

Emily loved the chips! She

also had a swim in the pool.

Scholastic Book Fair The Scholastic Book Fair will be taking place at school on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th of July from 3.15 - 4pm. Please support this event as it helps the school to get new books. There are lots of offers available and a wide range of books, reasonably priced.

Clubs Next week is the last after school clubs, there will be NO CLUBS week beginning 16th July. We hope the children have all en- joyed their clubs. There will be new clubs offered in September.

Year 6 Bikeability Cycle Training will be held next week. It is the new Cycling Proficiency Test designed to give young people the skills and confi- dence to ride their bikes. The training is free for schools as it is funded by the Government and run by fully qualified instruc- tors. Year 6 please don’t forget to bring your bike and helmet to all sessions if you are taking part.

Annual Short Story Competition Entries are flooding in! Closing date is next Friday 13th. There are 4 categories: Foundation, KS1, Yr3 & 4 and Yr5 &6.

FORMS AVAILABLE AT THE OFFICE Norfolk Cricket Board Cricket Camps - Summer Holidays 2012!!!

We are holding camps at 5 club locations across the county, during the holidays. Open to all, girls and boys, age 8-15yrs and of any cricket ability. Camps are delivered by experienced NCB coaches, qualified at level 2 and 3, with many having been coaching in schools on the Chance to Shine programme.
