We had two boats last year that won prizes that were made by people in their 20s or younger so age is certainly no barrier – it’s not the domain of old people at all. It’s fantastic to see the energy and enthusiasm from young people. What is it about antique and classic boats that appeals to people do you think? It brings back memories from the past – often people have had an experience when they were younger or in the old days of classic boats and wish that they could see that kind of boat centre of classic boating in New Zealand. That’s our mission – again, then they come along to the show and are reminded of just in a quiet sort of way. It’s our intention to get a trust up and what boating used to be like.
