Ball State’s rally began with 2:24 left in the third quarter on a 22-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Mike Neu to re- ceiver Brian Oliver. A Tony Nibbs’ two-point conversion run made the score 30-11 and that was all the scoring in the third stanza. BSU started its fourth-quarter scoring with a Neu to Oliver 98-yard TD pass with 11:02 left in the game. The Matt Swart extra point kick was good and closed the gap to 30-18. With 2:40 left in the contest, Neu completed a 15-yard scoring strike to receiver Kyle Robinson. Followed by Swart’s extra point kick, the Cardinals were down 30-24.
